Last week, our Filter team went on a work trip to Sweden. We shared our experience in promoting media literacy in Ukraine and were inspired by the practices of our Swedish colleagues! 😍 We had a privilege to meet representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Sweden, the Statens medieråd / The Swedish Media Council, Educational Radio Sweden, AI Sweden, the The Swedish Institute, and the Agency for Psychological Defence. We were impressed by how structured Sweden's approach is to implementing media literacy in the country, and how clearly defined the roles are between institutions, both governmental and non-governmental. Thanks to the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine for this opportunity!

On October 25th, Filter, along with its partners, conducted the National Media Literacy Test 🤩. Here are the results: ▪️ On October 25, 26,194 participants began the national media literacy test, with 13,980 successfully completing it. The test also included 413 participants who are Ukrainians residing abroad. ▪️ Like the previous year, the majority of participants were women (78%), while men constituted 21% of the total participants. ▪️ The largest age group of participants, as in 2022, fell between the ages of 15 and 18 (24%), with slightly fewer participants (16%) in the age group of 40 to 49 years old. ▪️ The majority of Ukrainians who participated in the national media literacy test achieved the "Beginner" level (53%) and the "Almost Guru" level (34%). Only 6% of Ukrainians reached the "Guru of Media Literacy" level, while 7% were classified as "Novices." In May, Kyiv suffered greatly from enemy attacks, both day and night. While authorities persistently and regularly call on people not to share information about anti-aircraft defense systems, there are still those who ignore this crucial plea. They disregard not only their own lives but also the lives of other Ukrainians. In this article, Filter, together with Dovidka.info, once again reminds us about the information that is strictly prohibited from being shared on social media.
