49-day PM Liz Truss loses voters' trust

Liz Truss, the 49-day PM, lost her Norfolk South West constituency in eastern England to Labour by 630 votes. Five years ago, she won a majority of more than 26,000. Her chaotic premiership in 2022 sent mortgage rates soaring, the pound tumbling and required an intervention by the central bank to calm markets.
She said the reason the Conservatives lost was because "we haven't delivered sufficiently on the policies people want".She laid the blame on the inheritance the party got in 2010, but not herself.
