CUET UG 2024: This NTA exam sparks controversy too as candidates complain of discrepancy in provisional answer key and website error

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had issued the provisional answer key for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 on July 7, providing candidates with a two-day window to submit challenges. The agency will close the objection window today, July 9, 2024. However, many CUET UG 2024 candidates have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to express difficulties in downloading the answer keys that were made available on July 7.Additionally, some have reported inaccuracies in the answer keys too.
A user named Deepanshu Bhardwaj shared a photo on X claiming that he is unable to download the answer key.

Another user named Rishabh posted on X claiming that he found quite a few errors in CUET UG answer key. Here is what he wrote, “ARPANET stands for
Sir i found multiple errors in cuet ug answer key and know if I challenge all errors ( that i think those are errors) the cost of the challenging is much more than my CUET application.”

Bishal Bhowmik, another CUET UG 2024 candidate tweeted, “When i checked my Geography OMR sheet with the CUET (UG) answer key, i am shocked because 80% of the answer key was wrong. When i calculated the number with the wrong answer key that NTA provides, I only got 26 but in reality I will get 122. Where my 17 questions are correct.”

Karun Kumar, another user, pointed out on X that most of the answers are wrong in the Psychology answer key. Tagging the Ministry of Education, he wrote, “Psychology answer key showing mostly wrong answers. Kindly check. Also, charges Rs 200 per question should be done away with for the challenges that are right.”


The NTA conducted the examination on May 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24, and 29, 2024, using both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and pen-and-paper modes. For the 15 subjects with the highest registrations, the exam was conducted in pen-paper mode, while the other 48 subjects were held in CBT mode. As already mentioned, on July 7, the agency released the provisional answer key for CUET UG 2024.
Until July 9, candidates have been provided with the opportunity to raise objections against the provisional answer key, with a fee of Rs 200 per question. Once all objections are submitted, the agency will review them and release the final answer key. Based on this final answer key, the CUET UG 2024 results will be prepared and announced.

Earlier, the National Testing Agency was supposed to release the CUET UG 2024 results by June 30; however, there was a delay in the process. It is now expected that the agency will announce the CUET UG 2024 result by the end of July. NTA will soon release information regarding the result date and time. Candidates are requested to keep visiting the official website of CUET UG 2024 for any updates on the results.
