NEW DELHI: The inaugural World Championship of Legends 2024 kicked off today with an exciting match between the champions of India and England. The tournament, being held for the first time, also includes champion teams from Australia, Pakistan, West Indies, and South Africa.
England is the host nation for the tournament, with the final scheduled for July 13 in Nottingham.
The league stage, running from July 3 to 10, will see each team face off against the others once, with the top four advancing to the semi finals on July 12. Birmingham will host the highly anticipated match between the champions of India and Pakistan on Saturday.
The tournament features a star-studded line up of international cricket legends, including Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Robin Uthappa, Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Brett Lee, Aaron Finch, Jacques Kallis, Dale Steyn, Herschelle Gibbs, Chris Gayle, Daren Sammy, lan Bell, Kevin Pietersen, Ambati Rayudu, Irfan Pathan, and many more.
In India, the Star Sports Network has acquired the rights to broadcast the WCL 2024 matches live. The games will be aired on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 1 Hindi, and Star Sports 1 Hindi HD, with match start times at 5 pm and 9 pm IST.
