CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday visited the family of murdered BSP state unit president K Armstrong and assured a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami also visited the residence of Armstrong and demanded an unbiased investigation by the CBI.
Armstrong was hacked to death near his residence on Friday.

Accompanied by HR&CE minister P K Sekarbabu, Stalin visited Armstrong's residence in Ayanavaram in North Chennai and paid floral tributes to the leader's portrait. He expressed deep condolences to Armstrong's widow, Porkudi, and other family members.
“The chief minister assured that a thorough probe will be conducted in the case and all those involved in the heinous act would be arrested and brought to justice,” said an official release.
The state government provided the necessary arrangements, including security for the funeral.
BSP chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati paid homage to Armstrong on Sunday. She demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the killing.
Palaniswami told reporters that the family and BSP partymen raised doubts about the involvement of several people in the crime and were not convinced by the arrests made so far.
“There are also differences in the govt action and the CCTV visuals emerging from the crime spot. The doubts of family and partymen seem to be correct,” EPS said, adding that the govt should bring the perpetrators of crime to justice, regardless of their position.
