CM Nayab Saini congratulates Badoli for his appointment as Haryana BJP chief

CM Nayab Saini congratulates Badoli for his appointment as Haryana BJP chief
CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday congratulated BJP MLA Mohan Lal Badoli over his appointment as the party's state unit president and exuded confidence that the party will return to power in the state for the third consecutive time. Badoli (61), the party's Brahmin face in Haryana and the sitting MLA from Rai Assembly segment in Sonipat, replaced Saini as the BJP's state unit chief on Tuesday.
Saini had continued to hold the charge of Haryana BJP president even after he became chief minister earlier this year.
In March, the BJP replaced Manohar Lal Khattar with Saini, an OBC leader, as the chief minister of Haryana. Khattar is now a Union minister.
In October 2023, the BJP appointed Saini as the party's Haryana unit president. At that time, he was an MP from Kurukshetra.
Congratulating Badoli, chief minister Saini, in a post in Hindi on X, said, "Many congratulations and best wishes to Rai MLA Shri @MohanLal_Badoli ji on being appointed the BJP's Haryana unit president."
"I have full faith that under your leadership, the organisational work (of the party) in Haryana will get a new direction and a BJP government will be formed for the third time," Saini said.
Soon after being appointed as state unit chief, Badoli met chief minister Saini at the latter's residence here in the evening.
Interacting with reporters after meeting the chief minister, Badoli thanked his party's leadership for entrusting the responsibility of state unit chief to an "ordinary worker".

He said that he would discharge his responsibilities with full dedication and honesty.
With assembly polls in Haryana due later this year, Badoli said, "The people of Haryana have made up their mind to form a BJP government for the third time".
Asserting the BJP government has taken several pro-people decisions, he said, "The party will win (Assembly polls) with a huge mandate."
Badoli made his maiden entry to the Haryana Assembly after winning the Rai seat in 2019. This was the first time that the BJP won the Assembly segment in Sonipat district, which was considered a Congress stronghold.
He has also served as the BJP's Sonipat district unit chief and the party's state general secretary.
Badoli joined the RSS in 1989 and subsequently moved to the BJP. He became 'Mandal' President (Murthal) in 1995 and also served as a member of the Zilla Parishad.
Badoli unsuccessfully contested the recently held Lok Sabha polls from Sonipat where he was defeated by Satpal Brahmachari of the Congress.
Newly appointed BJP's Haryana affairs in-charge Satish Poonia, party leaders O P Dhankar, Anil Vij and others also congratulated Badoli.
"Have full confidence that due to your important role, the BJP government will be formed again in Haryana with a huge majority after the upcoming assembly elections," Poonia said in a post in Hindi on 'X'.
