Jharkhand in charge for the assembly polls, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Friday, reiterated that JMM and Congress must answer why Champai Soren was “unceremoniously” removed from the chief minister’s post.
“He didn’t do any wrong,” Chouhan said referring to Champai and went on to allege that the entire drama of leadership change was done only to accommodate Hemant Soren, owing to “his hunger of power to continue the loot of minerals in the state”.
Chouhan was here on Friday the second day of his visit to the state. His visit was part of BJP’s campaign to interact and felicitate booth-level workers for their work during the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
Talking to reporters at the BJP district office at Haathmara located along NH-23 here, the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister said, “The Mahagathbandhan govt has destroyed the state by looting its minerals while the people are paying for this govt’s wrongdoings. Farmers are in trouble as they have no electricity or means for proper agriculture, youths are in trouble as there is no employment, payment of pension is frequently delayed above six months and so on.”
Replying to a question, Chouhan said said BJP’s alliance with Ajsu-P would continue in the forthcoming assembly election. “The NDA is united and will uproot the Mahagathbandhan govt in Jharkhand this time. BJP led in 52 out of 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand during the recent parliamentary election. It is an indication that people are preferring BJP govt here again.”
Earlier, Chouhan interacted with the party karyakartas and had lunch at the house of Ravi Kushwaha, the president of BJP’s booth no 304, in Digwar panchayat under the Mandu assembly.
