Nagpur: City shuttlers in both the boys and girls section crashed out of the Maharashtra U-17 inter-district team badminton championship at Ahmednagar on Monday.
While the top seeded girls’ outfit of Nagpur crashed out in the semifinal after losing to Pune, their boys counterparts were shocked by Nashik in the quarterfinal stage of the two-day state championship.
In the girls section, Shourya Madavi and Nishika Gokhe went down fighting in their respective singles matches as Pune sent Nagpur packing 2-1. In the boys quarterfinals, Nashik handed Nagpur a 2-1 defeat despite Rutva Sajwan winning his opening tie.
