Arhaan smashes meet records in Jr state aquatics

Ahmedabad: Breaststroke swimmer Arhaan Harsh asserted his supremacy with a dominant display at the recently concluded 50th Junior Gujarat State Aquatic Championships 2023. Arhaan, who practises under the guidance of Hardik Patel, won eight gold medals (five in individual events and three in team events).
He set five new state meet records in each of the individual events he competed in.He won gold medals in the 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke.
He won the 200m individual medley and 400m individual medley as well. He was also part of the relay team that bagged the gold medal in 4x100m freestyle by finishing in 4.19.18 and 4x200m freestyle which finished in 9.38.75. He was also part of the 4x100m medley relay that won the gold. He was declared the Gujarat state best swimmer in the U-14 boys’ category.
Speaking to TOI after breaking the record, Arhaan said, “It felt very special that I was able to break the record in all five of my individual events and get gold medals in all the eight events. It was a goal I had and I’m so glad that I achieved it. Records are meant to be broken but I really hope mine stay on for a few years from now.”TNN
