We recently hosted our annual comprehensive training on our Child Protection Policy for all employees. As a non-profit dedicated to working for child safety, it's crucial that we consistently reinforce our understanding of best practices in creating a safe environment for the children we serve. By equipping our team with the knowledge and skills to prioritize child safety, we reaffirm our commitment to their wellbeing. We believe this recurring training empowers our staff to be champions of child protection and fosters a culture of safeguarding throughout our organization. Share this post to spread awareness about the importance of child protection policies. If you are looking to create one for your organization, feel free to refer to Arpan's Child Protection Policy. We are thrilled to share that an exclusive interview of Pooja Taparia, Arpan’s Founder & CEO, was featured in The Navhind Times, largest circulated English daily in Goa. What makes it even more special is that Goa has been one of our key partners in championing the integration of Arpan’s curriculum into the State’s education system, with government agencies like the Goa State Council for Educational Research and Training (GSCERT), the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) and the Goa Education Development Corporation (GEDC) collaborating with Arpan. This collaboration is a great example of commitment towards child safety. Read the full article at https://bit.ly/4btWcin

Arpan is deeply grateful to Ms. Disha Pinky Shaikh for her inspiring talk on dismantling gender diversity and inclusion. True diversity cannot exist until we break free from the preconceived boxes of gender roles and identities. Disha's message highlighted the importance of EVERYONE being part of the conversation, especially cisgender allies. Every voice is crucial in challenging norms that perpetuate inequity. It made us reflect on the responsibility of all of us, who work with children. By fostering values of inclusion and equity, we can shape the future generation. These children will be the nation builders of tomorrow, and by equipping them to embrace diversity and challenge societal norms, we can create a more equitable future for all. Together, we can build a world where everyone thrives as Human Beings, unencumbered by societal expectations. Our journey of unlearning and learning on this issue has just begun. Share in the comments below how you have been able to be more inclusive and gender diverse. Let's keep the conversation going!  #GenderEquality #InclusionMatters #BreakTheBias #EmbraceEquity

Founder & Chief Executive at Arpan

On 17th June we marked 18 years of ARPAN's journey to create safe childhoods for children, free from trauma and abuse. Many years back, I had thought it would be so heartening when someday the very children we teach Personal Safety Education (PSE) to will take on the baton and take this important work ahead. I recently met new team members who've joined Arpan of which there were two who shared that they had received Personal Safety Education by Arpan when they were in Grade 4 and Grade 7 respectively. One of them has joined as a Counselor and the other as a Trainer. It warmed my heart with joy. 😍 The generation of children we began teaching PSE to has begun to take on the baton. Feels like a full circle. So glad and so happy! 😀 #ChildSafetyEveryday #JourneysofChange

It was an honour for Arpan to be on a panel on Child Safety hosted by the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s (WICCI) National Youth & Community Empowerment Council and National Equitable Parenting Council. Anupriya Das Singh, Senior Knowledge Manager at Arpan, emphasised that for children to be able to share their concerns openly “It is the duty of parents and teachers to create safe, comforting spaces where children can share without the fear of being judged”. #ExpertInsights #ProtectingChildren #Prevention #Awareness #Safety #SexualAbusePrevention

"What do boundaries mean? What constitutes unwelcome sexual behaviour? What can one do if they experience sexual harassment at the workplace? What is the role of the Internal Committee in Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal?" - Through awareness sessions on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace, we unpacked these and many more questions. At Arpan, as much as our focus is on the safety of children, we have an equally strong commitment towards fostering a safe and respectful work environment for all. We thank Nandita Pradhan, Director of Operations, Martha Farrell Foundation, for orchestrating these sessions for us. #WorkplaceSafety #RespectAtWork #ArpanCares #EmployeeWellbeing
