Tracy Brown-May (Democratic Party) is a member of the Nevada State Assembly, representing District 42. She assumed office on February 8, 2021. Her current term ends on November 6, 2024.

Brown-May (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the Nevada State Assembly to represent District 42. She is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. She advanced from the Democratic primary on June 11, 2024.

Brown-May was appointed to the Nevada State Assembly by the Clark County Commission on February 2, 2021, following the resignation of Alexander Assefa (D).[1]

Biography

Tracy Brown-May graduated from Ware High School in 1985. Brown-May earned an associate degree in political science and government from the College of Southern Nevada in 2015 and a bachelor's degree in liberal studies and American government and politics from Northeastern University in 2021. Her career experience includes working as the director of advocacy, board, and government relations and a special assistant to the president and CEO of Opportunity Village.[2]

Raised in a small town in western Massachusetts, I moved to Las Vegas more than 25 years ago and became a dedicated community servant. I am a longtime advocate for the most vulnerable in our society and that is evidenced by my profession. I work with various non-profits that focus their efforts serving people with disabilities. I have spent my career engaged in community building, workforce development, disability services, and systems advocacy. Public Policy is my passion and I believe in grassroots initiatives that engage all communities are at the heart of good policy. I am a wife, mother, and proud Nevadan. As a Nevada Assemblywoman representing AD42, I am honored to carry the voices of our district's residents to our State Legislature.

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
