Biography
Heather Goulding was born in Milton, Florida. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1987 and a graduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1997. Her career experience includes working as a project manager and nonprofit leader.[1]

Heather has been dedicated to community service in Northern Nevada for over 20 years. She has worked to provide funding for breast cancer services to uninsured women in our community and was a driving force behind establishing a high school dropout recovery program run by the Nevada National Guard.
In recognition of her leadership in passing Senate Bill 295 (2019) which established the Battle Born Youth ChalleNGe Academy, she was awarded the Nevada State Commendation Medal and was named a finalist for Reno Gazette Journal’s Citizen of the Year award.
Heather’s commitment to others is evident in her years of community service. For over 10 years, she was a volunteer ski instructor at Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program; you might have heard her yelling encouragement to her students on the 4 Hill. She was a founding board member of Reno Improv, an organization committed to building an inclusive community where people heal and grow through humor. She has served in numerous leadership roles in Toastmasters where members build the skill and confidence to share their stories. She is a ride leader for Reno’s local bike club, and she serves on the board of the Reno Bike Project. She has also served on the City of Reno Ward 5 Neighborhood Advisory Board. In all of these activities, Heather has been committed to helping others live their best lives in our community.
- Reproductive Rights: Heather supports access to the full range of reproductive care, including abortion, for all Nevadans. This means protecting Nevadans' legal right to reproductive freedom, and addressing the shortage of healthcare providers in the state.
- Education: A strong advocate for equitable access to high-quality public education, Heather will fight to ensure that every child has the opportunity for a bright and successful future, she opposes diverting public school funding to private schools.
- Affordable Housing: Advocating for safe, affordable housing, Heather will work towards creating communities where everyone can thrive, supporting programs that protect existing affordable housing and build accessible options.
Protecting reproductive rights. Increasing mental healthcare services. Addressing the affordable housing crisis.
Integrity and transparency.
Represent the interests of their constituents. Protect the greater interests of the state of the Nevada.
Every individual has the responsibility to leave the world a better place than they entered it. My hope that people will remember me as a honest and compassionate individual who made a positive impact in my community during my lifetime.
