Alanis Morissette is every bit the proud mom as she performs classic hit Ironic with daughter for her eighth birthday in Nashville

Alanis Morissette gave her daughter Onyx an eighth birthday to remember.

While out on The Triple Moon Tour the mother of three briefly paused her concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville to celebrate her little girl's special day and sing her classic hit Ironic together.

With the help her husband Mario Treadway, Onyx was brought out on to the stage and then promptly ran into her mother's open arms.

First up, the Jagged Little Pill superstar performed the Happy Birthday song, along with many of the 20,000 fans who sang along with their rock 'n' roll hero.

From there, the band kicked into the opening notes of Ironic and Onyx began singing the opening verse, all while getting a little encouragement from her mom.

'An old man turned ninety-eight / He won the lottery and died the next day,' a glowing Onyx sang, before her mother stepped in to remind her of the lyrics.

'It's a black fly in your Chardonnay / It's a death row pardon two minutes too late / And isn't it ironic? Don't you think?'

The mother-daughter duo then belted out the chorus together, which again inspired many in the audience to join along.

'It's like rain on your wedding day / It's a free ride when you've already paid / It's the good advice that you just didn't take / And who would've thought? It figures,' the pair sang with obvious emotion to their voices.

The You Oughta Know singer-songwriter opted for the classic rockstar look in black leather pants with a matching tank top a shiny blue shirt she left unbuttoned.

Rounding out her overall look, the Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native had her dark brown locks still flowing long past her shoulders with extra volume, plenty of natural waves, and a part in the middle.

Onyx matched her mom in the cool factor in leopard-print pants with a pink t-shirt and matching sneakers.
