Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff has been accused of throwing shade at Billie Eilish as their alleged feud appears to be rolling on.

The 40-year-old Bleachers frontman appeared on Today on Thursday to talk about his band's new self-titled album but it was one comment made in passing that had fans talking just weeks after pal Taylor had been accused of 'sabotaging' her younger rivals.

On the morning chat show/news program Jack had been asked about his songwriting process as he answered that he tends to write music about things which impact him emotionally rather than something as simple as a meal.

He answered: 'It’s hard to write unless you’re really compelled. And sometimes what compels you is way more serious things.

'I never feel like... You don’t hear a lot of great songs about like, one’s lunch order. So the things you don’t really understand and cause you pain are usually things worth writing about.'

It may have seemed like a harmless comment at first but fans of the 22-year-old Billie suggested that Jack had thrown subtle shade at her since her latest single was titled Lunch.

The song - which Billie has referred to as a 'lesbian anthem' - was the first single off of her third studio album Hit Me Hard And Soft which was released in May.

One of Billie's fans took to X (formally Twitter) to share a video of the clip with the caption: 'jack antonoff’s grown 40 year old self shading billie? weirdo.'

Others did not believe that the comment was not meant to shade the Lovely hitmaker as one X user wrote: 'why are people saying he’s shading billie… lunch is not actually about having lunch like yall are fckn slow as hell JDJDBDBDHDJ.'

This comes amid months of tension between Billie and Taylor's fandoms amid an alleged feud between the two.

Last month, Billie was accused of shading Taylor amid their battle for the top spot on the Billboard album chart following the releases of their respective albums

While the superstars have publicly gushed over each other in the past, some social media users are convinced the pair are feuding following an interview Eilish gave, this week, in which she brands three-hour concerts as 'psychotic.'

While appearing on Stationhead following the recent release of her new album, the performer slammed musicians that put on super lengthy shows.

'Nobody wants that. You guys don't want that. I don't want that. I don't even want that as a fan,' the Bad Guy hitmaker said. 'My favorite artist in the world, I'm not trying to hear them for three hours.'

The comments sent Swifties into a frenzy as they rushed to defend the 14-time Grammy, whose Eras Tour shows span an average of three hours and 15 minutes.

Similarly, Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, which wrapped in September, was between two and a half to three hours.

Oddly enough, just last year, Eilish praised both Swift and Beyoncé for being able to 'put on a show that long' that's 'filled with so many incredible moments' for their fans.

During that interview with the Los Angeles Times, she also referred to Swift as an 'untouchable superstar.'

Eilish latest comments come just two months after she raised eyebrows for slamming artists that put out multiple editions of their albums on vinyl

The vocal climate activist called out how 'wasteful' it is that 'some of the biggest artists in the world' make 'f***ing 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more.'

Despite never naming Swift or any particular artist, fans interpreted her comments as a jab at the Fortnight singer, 34, as she has released numerous vinyl versions of her albums.

The debate was hot on social media

During her interview with the Billboard in March, Billie criticized artists over the 'wasteful' practice of releasing numerous vinyl versions of albums to increase sales.

'For some reason, it's very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging,' she claimed. 'Which ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money and gets them more.'

'I can't even express to you how wasteful it is,' she continued. 'I find it really frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable.

The Bad Guy singer is not exempt from this practice as her latest studio album, Happier Than Ever, was available in eight different vinyl variations.

However, the variants were '100% recycled black vinyl, plus recycled scraps for colored variants and shrink-wrap made from sugar cane,' according to Billboard.

Eilish went on to say that she finds it 'so wasteful' and 'irritating' to witness 'all your favorite artists doing that s***', prioritizing their sales figures and financial gains above all else.

In addition to Swift, a multitude of well-known artists, including Travis Scott, Olivia Rodrigo, and Blink-182, have released numerous vinyl versions of their recent albums.

'Okay so it would be so awesome if people would stop putting words into my mouth and actually read what I said in that billboard article,' the two-time Oscar winner wrote. 'I wasn't singling anyone out, these are industry-wide systemic issues.'

Despite her best efforts, Eilish raised eyebrows, yet again, while appearing on Stationhead following the release of her new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, while slamming stars that put on three-hour shows (seen in March 2024)

As Swift continues to try to hold onto the top spot for a fifth week with The Tortured Poets Department, some eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Eilish's manager, Danny Rukasin, allegedly liked, then, unliked, tweets criticizing Swift.

He allegedly liked a post claiming Swift goes out of her way to do 'everything to prevent other artists from shining.'

The tweet went on to point out how Swift previously released her entire catalogue back on Spotify on the same day Katy Perry released Witness in 2017, and most recently, dropped three new versions of TTPD on the same day Eilish released her new album.

According to The Sun, 'Danny, who is the co-owner of Los Angeles-based company Best Friends Music deleted his retweet after it started going viral.'

'This is messy as hell but I'm glad celebs and celeb-adjacent folks are are being openly petty again. They're around to entertain us, so please continue,' one Eilish fan wrote.

Another speculated 'how much longer he will be managing' Eilish as his likes on social media give off 'an unprofessional look.'

Earlier this week, Eilish came under fire with Swifties for criticizing her own last album, Happier Than Ever, for including too many songs, while appearing on The Zane Lowe Interview Series.

The Los Angeles native said that her last record, which featured 16 songs, was too long and 'nobody needs that many songs.'

Some interpreted that as shade toward Swift, whose latest album has a whopping 31 tracks.

Other signs that point to beef among the women are that Eilish sent Swift's nemesis, Kim Kardashian, a promo package for her latest record, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

Swift and Kardashian have been locked in a years-long feud, that began over the vulgar lyrics to Kanye West's 2016 track, Famous.

While being interviewed by TIME magazine as Person of the Year in December, Swift spoke about how the reality star, 43, and her then-husband, 46, leaked an edited phone call that 'falsely painted' her 'as a liar' that resulted in her being taken down 'psychologically.'

Swift has not publicly remarked on any of Eilish's comments, but has previously shown support for the Gen Z sensation's career.

At Billboard’s 2019 Women In Music, Swift presented the Lunch crooner with the Woman of the Year Award.

Swift took a moment to reflect on winning the award herself in 2014 as she recalled saying that the next Woman of the Year was 'probably sitting in a piano lesson or in a girls choir.'

'I’ve since learned that at the exact moment, an 11-year-old girl in California really was taking piano lessons and really was in the girls choir, and this year, she has been named woman of the year at the age of 17. Her name is Billie,' the Shake It Off singer said, before welcoming Eilish to accept the honor.

During her acceptance speech, Eilish thanked Swift for her 'beautiful' words and for making the music industry better for female artists.
