We came here with the recommendation of our hotel (The Barcelona Edition). Fabulous modern Tapas with unique flavors and style but what (rather who) made it impressive and delicious and memorable was Eduardo Izquerdo. This impressionable young man was charming, informative, enthusiastic and passionate from the second we were shown to the table. He translated in his best english the meaning of some of the dishes. Recommend an amazing Spanish white wine ( Pazo Marinan) and was so hands on and seriously interested in our personal experience and joy. We had the hake in barbels in pil pil sauce. The boneless shoulder of suckling lamb (super tender and so yummy) the cured Iberian acorn fed ham and then to finish it the torrija Casera which literally is a French toast but on the butterish brioche qnd fresh yogurt ice cream. My palette is satisfied. My heart is so full with gratitude and appreciation and I’m most appreciative of Eduardo. This young man made it An absolute impression of joy and honesty on me and my husband. He surprised us with a finish in the end..now I won’t say too much because I think it’s worth truly worth visiting this restaurant because I highly recommend coming here..and please meet and ask for this young man. He is a legend beyond his years and the food comes to mark and taste because Eduardo wants his patrons to try the beat of Catalonian flavors.

This world class restaurant delivers a fabulous experience from top to bottom. The table service, cuisine, wine selections and ambiance are the equal of many Michelin starred eateries. Both of us indulged in the 6 course tasting menu with the paired wines. Our favorite eats were the fresh peas in broth, steamed razor clams with yuzu, white asparagus with morel mushrooms, local fish carpaccio, and a perfectly prepared duck. This incredible restaurant delivers all of these great things at reasonable prices. My wife and I consider La Taverna del Clinic a must-visit when in Barcelona.

This was a recommendation from our hotel. We weren’t disappointed! You would never find this restaurant without a local recommendation as it is in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The menu is exciting and the service excellent. The food does not disappoint. Real great all round. The waiter also recommended a cocktail bar 3 blocks away called Dry Martini which was also excellent.

While the service was great, the table settings beautiful and the wine cellar impressive, the food was disappointing. We ordered individual items. The razor clams with yuzu, ginger and garlic appeared raw, the texture was not appetizing. For me these were inedible. The prawn ravioli and boletus is primarily chopped boletus (mushrooms). Little evidence of prawn and no sign of pasta. Not remarkable. The caviar toast was acceptable. The La Taverna bravas (potatoes) were good. The fish of the day was also good and came with vegetables that were cooked perfectly. The warm chocolate fritters with ice cream were very good. At a restaurant of this caliber one would expect each dish to be amazing; however, this was not my experience. The person I dined with enjoyed the food more than I did, to be fair. However, for me, the food was disappointing. It is high-priced for Spain and should be a special experience. I cannot recommend it.

OK, so the service at this restaurant is not at the level of the French restaurant with 2 Michelin stars that I ate at last week; but this one is more informal and friendly and the food is better. Each course was delicious, and the wine pairings (with the exception of the dessert course) were magnificent--in particular, the Rioja Crianza that was paired with the tuna ceviche with a sauce of mango and black sesame seeds: somehow the finish of the Rioja managed to be a seamless continuation of the finish of the mango sauce. The pigeon with purple-potato puree and mushrooms was also delicious.

Visiting Barcelona we went with a good friend to this lovely restaurant. The staff welcoming and so helpful in guiding us to choose from the exciting and unusual menu. We shared a number of starters… tiny mushrooms and omelette with tiny fish.. amazing. We had the suckling pig for main which was delicious. Then the postre .. chocolate fitters … sensational. Thanks to the Chef and the staff for a wonderful evening

Highly recommend. The service and attention to detail second to none - presentation, well above average. Delicious wines; Friendly and efficient and not pushy service. Great to see the stuff in the open kitchen too. Classy restaurant, their tart tatin it is good choice.

The food was delicious. We stumbled on this place due to our guide book recommendation. It is a little further down the road from many other places recommended in Eixample, but worth the walk.

Amazing Food & Wine collection in short situated at a very convenient and easy to reach location. We went in a group of 12 people, and tried all the staters & appetizer. All the food and lobsters were great, well balanced in taste with warm aroma. Ambience was quite subtle with a golden hue to it with white color crockery. The staff was real polite, and very humble. They also took care of a vegetarian person in our group. All in all surely worth a try.

You’d never find this place without a local recommendation. Well worth a visit. Though not on the menu because the season just started the waiter offered fresh baby eel which was incredible. Great wine list.

Although this place has tavern in its name, it was a very special, intimate place for an incredible meal. It was quiet and romantic. Service was formal and professional. Everything we had was excellent. Classic dishes perfectly prepared. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here on our last night in Barcelona.

Had a snafu at another place and they recommended this place as an alternative. Very happy to get in with no reservation. Got a tasting menu (9 courses = 75 euro). We got an amuse, then they brought us out a tin of caviar with bread and butter and said that this would be our 3 appetizer courses... Ok? Very odd. I don't really get a chance to down a little tin of caviar every day so I didn't put up a fight. Everything was lovely and we had a nice lunch. Vry grateful that they could accomodate us without a reservation

We (five of us) were lucky enough to connect with a fine food and wine writer for a private nighttime eating tour in Barcelona. We stopped first and a fish & seafood tapas restaurant, second at a mountain (meat) tapas restaurant and ultimately here. We ate in the taverna side (a more formal seating area is just through the archway). We were delighted to receive course after course (all small plates) of divine food with a perfect wine pairing with each. Tiny, hot potato cylinders with magical sauce. Fresh whitefish lightly sauced to perfection. Blood sausage with black truffles in a thick puree of mushrooms.Fresh scallops with beans, crunchy black rice & pumpkin gnocchi. Homemade pasta (in a manicotti form) stuffed with shredded duck breast in a bechamel sauce with grated truffles. Citrus, carrot and celery sorbet with dried strawberry crumbs.Oh my. Oh my. Oh my. Excellent. Dine with them!
