Great food overall, with their potato sides being top notch. Staff was very accommodating and helpful, with one staff member being able to translate what we needed to English. With our limited knowledge about German fare, the waitress recommended some great dishes. The decor was nice, with the restaurant/bar spread over a few floors. With high COVID-levels at the time, the room was divided with partitions for each table, which was a nice touch to feel more safe.

We were visitng the Leipziger Buchmesse and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. First night we went it, we were looking for a good winebar--and boy, did we find one!!! We were immediatelly mesmerized by the atmosphere, the kind, knowledgable and hospitable staff, so we decided to book a table for dinner 2 nights later. Every dish that was brought to us was such high quality we were speechless. It was like poetry on a plate it. And the service (we were served by one of the owners) was impeccable! We would definitely come back if we are in Leipzig again.

Romantic, authentic and relaxed restaurant with super friendly staff, a nice little bar and fantastic red wine from Israel.

Delicious regional food. Potatoes 5 ways, but don't miss the rosti! Nice wine pairing. Just an absolutely adorable place.

On a Sunday the restaurant looked empty. We opened the door to the bar and were informed that the restaurant was upstairs. Once up stairs, the atmosphere was charming and quite intimate. No English Language menus or wine list, but our waitress was extremely helpful and present. We ordered the Potato Soup which was rich, thick and wonderful. For a main we tried the Liver & Onions which was good although a bit over-cooked (we ordered medium). Our waitress recommended a red wine from Israel that was quite good. Overall an excellent experience at a reasonable price.

The restaurant is located within a courtyard on Richard Wagner Platz – not on the street and not to be confused with Wagner’s Café. Upon entering the courtyard, bear to the left and open the door. Continue inside to the right and up the stairs where you will come upon a charming, quiet, cozy, sophisticated venue. The waitress was delightful and eagerly translated the menu for me into English even though I was with two German friends. She also announced that SHE was the wine list – and recommended an excellent, full-bodied Malbec from Argentina “Don David,” at €6.80 a glass. Service was warm, attentive and unrushed. I had the rinderfilet – a filet of beef (€25) that was cooked as requested: á point – pink and juicy. It was accompanied by sautéed red and yellow peppers along with a small portion (as requested) of potato pancakes. Had I known they were so good I would have ordered an extra-large portion: they were tasty, crunchy and served piping hot. The kalbsleber (beef liver) came with a piquant apple-cabbage relish and a sizable portion of whipped potatoes (€20). A large dinner portion of a hearty potato soup was satisfying and arrived piping hot (€8.90). The total bill with a “rounding up” tip was €80 – a fraction of the cost of a comparable meal in New York City. I highly recommend this restaurant. Given its small size, a reservation is advised.

Fantastic lunch in a tucked away courtyard. Food was excellent and our waitress knew all the wines and was able to recommended a lovely dry white wine. We were a mixed group including vegetarian and there was something for everyone. I could have happily eaten just the bread and sour cream with onions, but all dishes were outstanding. I would recommend a visit.

This small and off the beaten path restaurant offers Saxonian cuisine with new interpretations plus a taste of the world and innovative vegetarian food. They have good wine and know their wines. Certainly worth a visit.

This restaurant in the backhouse of a cafe with a similar name is great. Delicious food, good wine, and friendly service. Prices are acceptable, but not budget. Not to be confused with the Cafe at the front. The picture is of the cafe.

The small restaurant is in a frame house in abackyard. It has some outdoors tables. The staff ios very kind. Unfortunately, the kitchen is overstrained, easily, when the restaurant is fully occupied. You have to wait for a longer time. The wine list is rather poor.

We dined at Wagner's 2 weeks ago and found the food well- balanced and presented, quite a relief after having been exposed to various "schnitzel paradises" where a lot and greasy set the tone. Not so at Wagner's.It was delicous!

The food here is superb, and the waitress gave us an excellent wine recommendation. It's a small but smart dining room (we were on the first floor) and service was friendly despite it feeling a bit busy at the start of the night. A few local specialities here along with some more classic, French-influenced dishes. Definitely worth a visit for a special night out in Leipzig.

... the most charming and helpful owner, who told us lots about Richard Wagner and Leipzig, gave us books to look at and leaflets to take away. This lady was 100% more useful that anyone in the tourist office and I cannot praise her enough for friendliness, good service and the best hazelnut coffee I have ever had. And the strudel was to die for. Top tip for lunch, snacks and culture.
