Welcome to the heart of Leipzig. The Renaissance building, which is part of the boutique hotel, is the oldest building in Leipzig that is still inhabitable. Located directly next to St Thomas’s Church and the Bach Monument, the Townhouse stands for style and class. The newly constructed rear building opens out onto the garden. Very quiet, very charming. The 49 Studios & Lofts and three extravagant Renaissance Suites are designed in light colors and with luxurious materials. Free high-speed wifi, air conditioning, comfortable beds and some equipped with kitchenettes, the rooms make your stay a perfect experience. You choose the view: garden or city. In addition, a laundry service, a fitness area equipped with Hammer Strength and LifeFitness machines, a sauna, as well as the library in the Renaissance House, which invites you to relax, are available to all guests. Exclusively for guests, there are additional areas available.

Great hotel and value for money. We were able to swap our rooms and the front site of the hotel with a beautiful view on the church and the Bach monument. One evening we were enen so lucky to have a real open air concert below our window. Amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful and rooms were neat and nicely decorated. Price was also very good, through booking.com, which I never want to use because hotels prefer direct bookings, but this time the offer of booking wat better. Certainly a place to return to if I go to Leipzig agian.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They make you feel like you are at home! Location is the best in town in a calm area, with the hotelcafé/restaurant right in front of the beatiful Thomas Church. Rooms are spacious, clean and with very nice decor. We will recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a special treat in Leipzig. The room-price is very fair and the experience is so much better than the big hotel-chains. We actually ended up booking a longer stay than we initially planned, all because of the athmosphere on this hotel. Thank you very much Team Townhouse! See you next time. Kind regards from Monberg family:)

I traveled from Finland to enjoy the great Thomaner choir and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. The concert was unbeliaveble great!
The hotel is located just the opposite of the St Thomas church. You dont need to put your coat on. The staff was nice. But facilities for dinner were bad and the breakfast was a chaos. And the worst - the room was cold. But I wish this hotel the best luck in Leipzig. For 5 stars A good dinner before he concert would have been perfect.

This was my favorite hotel of my stay. The room had a wonderful view to the Thomaskirche and Bach statue. Best of all the windows opened so I could enjoy a lovely breeze and sounds of the church.

Staff were very attentive and nice. Room was nice and clean.

Stepping into the hotel, I loved the beautiful decor. Light, airy and very spacious. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, extremely helpful and very professional. The front desk staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. Thank-you!!!
The location of the hotel is perfect and the room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials. I really couldn't ask for anything more and would not stay anywhere else or hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone!! Thank-you for the great stay.

The location couldn`t be much better, 2 mins walk from Markt S bahn station, and also 2 mins from Thomaskirche tram line no.9 stop. Thomaskirche is 20 seconds away, also the Bach museum is next door. Room 105 has a great bathroom, bath with shower, and also an shower cabinet. Very modern design room, and also clean and spacious. You can listen to over 200 works by Bach on the TV in the room.Kettles are available, but only if you ask. Kitchen is useful, fridge isn`t cluttered with overpriced drinks, you can just put your own in. There is a laundry room on the basement, as well as a gym and sauna. The nearest supermarket is in the main station shopping mall, although the galleria has a food area underground. Plenty of restaurants around, but the market is great for a quick meal.
Highly recommended

Extremely disappointing!
We arrived 14:00 on an August Sunday afternoon after a four hour trip to Leipzig and a walk through town from the train station. We were promptly told that check-in was 15:00 and we needed to wait the additional hour as our particular room was not yet finished. As my fiance is SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT we asked whether any other rooms were available as she really needed to put her feet up and relax a bit. We were told that, although the hotel was not fully booked, we did not reserve a category of room that would allow us to be put into any of the rooms that were currently standing empty! While we understand that sometimes concessions can not be made, in this case we were dealing with a hot, summer Sunday afternoon in a non-sold-out situation AND a pregnant woman ... and we were basically told to hit the streets for another hour.

The staff could have really been our heroes ... instead they earned only zeroes.

And, for those of you curious as to where they were so intent at putting their newest guests, here's the trash/grafitti-filled view from our room.

There are MANY better options in Leipzig and, to think, we could have been in the Steigenberger for just another €20!

Fantastic hotel with a lot of old world charm - wooden floor boards, heavy doors, stone walls. Stayed in one of the beautifully furnished suites. Brandnew interior, super-clean, internet worked without any problems. Very tranquil. A loungy "living-room" near the lobby could be used for meetings any guest might plan.

Great chance to actually live in a historic German building. Great value for money.

Service was tremendously friendly: I got the room I had requested on the online booking form (check out their images online to pick the one you like best); concierge stored luggage for me between check-out and flight so I could enjoy Leipzig for a few more hours; breakfast waitress had arranged for another cup of cappuchino before I even asked for it.

There are cheaper breakfast options in town, but nothing really matches the view into the church courtyard at the Bach hotel.

This was my 2nd stay at the Arcona, this time in a deluxe apartment facing St. Thomas Church and the iconic statue of Bach. My room was huge and included a kitchen and large bathroom. It was quiet, clean, and absolutely a lovely stay, with my favorite view in Leipzig. Breakfast was included and there was a wonderful selection. The location is just off the main square and is close to all the major attractions. I highly recommend this boutique hotel!

Stayed here for two nights for my husband's birthday this summer. We are both church musicians, and we were prepping for several large-scale Bach performances this season. I requested a room with a view of Thomaskirche, and the hotel staff booked us a lovely upper-floor room overlooking the church and square. It was truly a wonderful experience for the both of us. Staff was attentive and friendly, and our room was very comfortable. We enjoyed all of the Bach touches in the decor of the hotel and the extreme convenience for Thomaskirche and the Bach Archive. Nicholaikirche was also only a short walk away. We attended an evensong featuring the Thomanerchor here. Mendelssohn house was a bit further away but definitely walkable. The trickiest part about this hotel is the parking situation. We were told we could drive into the pedestrian zone to unload our luggage, but the only two small spaces were already occupied. We ended up driving around for quite a bit before finally parking in the underground garage near Thomaskirche. This was pricey, but fairly convenient for the hotel. For first-timers in Leipzig, this hotel was a great option. Perfect for visitors in town for Bach sites. A lovely stay.
