I was staying at the Ibis next door. It is so close you can use their wifi if you are sitting outside the Indian Crown. The outdoor seating area was an excellent place for a late Summer evening, helped by the friendly, unhurried service. You hear a lot of English spoken here, and the style of cooking is not a million miles from the staple fare of a classic British curry house. They give evryone a popadum and a tray of three pickles, which gets things off to a good start. The main on my first visit was a chicken and spinach dish. I'm pretty sure the spinach in it had been frozen, which is a shame. On my second visit I tried a lamb and dal dish which strongly resembled my favourite at home - lamb dhansak. I would have it again. Unfortunately, I paired it with some mixed pakoras which were certainly not crispy, and were rather bland. The pickle tray came to the rescue. I have had worse Indian meals in Germany, and I have had ones as good, but none better. Try for yourself. If you are of a parsimonious disposition, you can save a worthwhile amount on the same main dishes by buying them before 4pm.

A good Indian meal on a visit to Leipzig . Will certainly visit them again when ever in Leipzig .

A good Indian restaurant with tasty food as close as it can get to home cooked .The owner and the staff are very courteous , food was fresh and tasty . The Indian breads ( naan , kulcha) were well made in a tandoor ( traditional Indian oven) . The Daal makhani and the mango lassi were equally good . Restaurant is clean and maintains a high degree of hygiene . The Punjabi music playing adds to the authenticity . Unlike most other Indian restaurants in Germany which adapts to meet the German palate and taste nothing close to authentic Indian cuisine , this one keeps it simple and true to the original taste albeit cutting down the spice and chili’s .

Good Indian food

The location is not far from the Markt and City Hall. We were here on a hot summer evening with many guest around town, and chose the place as it was possible to dine outside. The food is traditional Indian, and the menu has a large number of dishes to choose from. We had to wait a while for our food, but the team members did a great job on a busy evening. The food was very good and the prices reasonable.

Finish the day at Indian Crown with friends

Eat pompadums, even with mint sauce ( a bit weak) , naan, I had no143 salmon with hot sauce ( not very hot) and drink SONA;). Very solid Indian in the middle of Leipzig. Very friendly service. Great place to have a conversation - banquet style. Recommended.

Chicken curry disappointing. All cream and tomato paste. Few spices. Same with the Aubergine curry, lots of potatoes few spices. Feels like they’re saving money. Not authentic Indian. Maybe folk in Leipzig know little about real Indian food as it’s highly rated= overrated.

Good Indian Restaurant

The restaurant was packed which is of course a good sign. Very good food, adjusted to the western taste, so you don't need to be scared of the "spicy" labels. The menu has a large amount of dishes. We can recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch and were seated right away. Ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, and naan. Interestingly, the chicken tikka masala and korma both had the same color and tasted only slightly different and somewhat bland. The rice and naan didn't taste fresh. There were also little flies buzzing around.

We ordered take away from this restaurant, one starter and two main curry dishes. It was excellent, since we had really bad food experience with another highly rated restaurant nearby, we were so skeptic in the beginning, but once we tried what we ordered. It was a pure joy, a little bit pricy but for the portion, I think it worth it. If you are not too hungry, two person can also share one starter and one curry dish:)

Good food but you have to wait too much

Waiters are not organized. The kitchen too slow. We wait 90 minutes before being served. After all this time they forgotten Samosas. Not a place to come back. 40 euro per person...quite expensive I think

The best Indian I have ever eaten.

This is truly the best Indian food I have ever eaten. The service is amazing and the restaurant well decorated to match the theme. The toilet was clean and you could see that it was cleaned multiple times that day. It’s a good restaurant for all occasions.

Great food and good service.

Great food and good service. Had the vindaloo & whilst not as hot as UK curries, had a good kick. Would of been a 5 if a proper vindaloo. Chicken was great and rice really light. Still does not beat the Red Rose from Chessington despite the rise in a vase....... recommended for curry in Leipzig. Staff looked the part too other than being in trainers as if they were about to go running??

No recommendation. We choose this restaurant as it is ranked 7 in entire Leipzig city. The rank is clearly misleading. It is maximum average, nothing more, but prices are way above average. Taste 3/5, location 2/5, staff 3/5, price-quality ratio 1/5.

excellent food. Efficient service and god quality food, but hygiene not fully ok. we changed tzbles as the white sheet on our first table was dirty and there was some food left on the ground. Seems quite popular with locals, which creates a vivid atmosphere
