Good Food and Great Service

This is a good restaurant with good food and very pleasant service. Steak Tartar and fillet with oxtail was excellent. Dining area nice but not anything special. This is one of those restaurants that is stuck between mid-range and fine dining. Restaurant not quite refined enough and still some issues with food (according to other reviews) to be fine dining although prices are too high for a mid-range restaurant.

Nice setting

Located in the heart of Leipzig, at the market. A pleasant atmosphere and warm decorated restaurant. Very professional and friendly service. The food is good, main couse of fish sea bass with risotto was quite salt. That was a pity so there is more potential.

An excellent simple dinner

We got a warm welcome on a wet and chilly day and reall6 loved 5e food. The whole place was very reminiscent 9f childhood and eating with m6 grandparents who were German refugees in London. Portions were generous, the food was simply and well cooked, linens were lovely and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely go back.

A rather disappointing food experience in Leipzig

Restaurant recommended by Steigenberger Hotel (which by the way is a great hotel to stay in). Unfortunately the Weinstock restaurant did not have its best evening. A short menu so we expected all to be good. Food arrived far to quick to make us believe it was freshly prepared. Quality was below par whIch we also told the waitress. She recommended a desert but also the desert was pretty simply (price was not in line). To make our evening a little better she offered free coffee and tee🙏. Location is fine but the chef must go back to school!

Nice place in the Center of the town, not cheap and very slow

We wait very long time to be served. The food is good but not cheap (52 euro per person). The dessert is not at the level of the main course. Not to come back. It is a pity...it is a place with potentiality

Nice, but not exceptional

Classy atmosphere. Service was friendly and professional though a bit distant. The local wine (Schloss Proschwitz Cuvée Moritz) seemed rather thin and didn't really convince us, though it certainly wasn't terrible. But we had better wines from Saxony while we were there. My roast duck was fine but nothing to rave about either. A nice restaurant that doesn't really stand out much among other good options in Leipzig despite the quite high pricing.

Very nice restaurant

Visited early evening before going to a concert so not very busy. Lovely restaurant overlooking the market square. Good service with attentive staff happy to help with choices. Excellent food and the waitress’s suggestion of a local white wine.

Very nice food

Excellent food - soup and steak were very nasty. Really nice ambience and a traditional decor in a lovely part of Leipzig. Worth a visit.

There were no free outside tables at Augustiner am Markt (next door), so I opted for Weinstock: sometimes the best things happen by chance. Excellent vegetarian ravioli served with asparagus, and very good red wine by the glass. Service friendly and highly professional. Slightly on the expensive side, but excellent value, given the quality of both food and service. Large, roomy terrace. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Not just Wein !

Dropped in by chance, fairly late by local standards, after a concert, on a warm enough evening to enjoy the pavement tables and the people watching. Service was good, wine fine, and schnitzels were excellent .

Nice food in superior surroundings.

Lovely food in very nice surroundings, not your typical German restaurant but in one of the old buildings in market square. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This restaurant is perfect for special occasions.

This restaurant was is well situated in the centre of town and has a nice dining area. Service is a little slow but the main problem is its food. My friend's veal was both overcooked and over-salted and the tagliatelle was soggy. My pork medallions were acceptable, but that was all.
