    Nice Museum & Knowledgeable Staff
Our visit to Coastal Discovery Museum was unplanned and sporadic. It’s worth a planned visit though. The staff was knowledgeable and the exhibits provided a lot interesting information on the area. The outdoor marsh boardwalks were enjoyable too.

    Family fun
Fun for all. We were able to experience the critter meet and greet which was a lot of fun for my 9 year old. We also explored some of the grounds, learned a lot in the museum, and went into the butterfly experience.

    Educational and fun activities!
We spent a great morning with our grandkids at the Coastal Discovery Museum. Entrance was free, donations accepted. There is a scavenger hunt for kids - that takes you all around the grounds to explore the various features. We dropped by the Barn to meet the horses. The girls learned all about loggerhead sea turtles and completed a free craft. We stopped by the carnivorous plant exhibit and learned about the Venus Fly Trap (native to the area.)
Thank you for the kind words. We're so happy you and your grandchildren enjoyed your time with us and hope to have you back soon!

Variety is the Spice of Life
We booked three tours through the museum and each one was excellent. Spent a day on Daufuskie Island on our golf cart, did a history tour of Hilton Head, then did a Gullah tour. Each tour was unique, professional and excellent. Then we spent time at the museum, walked around the walking path, got fruit at the Farmers’ Market and thoroughly enjoyed our activities and visit.
Thank you for the kind words! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our tours and your time at our Farmer's Market.

    Excellent Tours!
We toured the Museum and grounds and found it quite interesting. We also took the Blue Crab Discovery tour with Carol Horowitz who was a knowledgeable and friendly guide, and the Dolphin and Nature Cruise which was a blast. Both were excellent and well worth the cost of admission!
So happy you had a great experience at the Museum! Blue Crab Discovery is definitely a guest favorite.

    Stunning property!
Absolutely worth a visit! The museum is informative concerning local culture, and preservation. It’s sits on a stunning property with beautiful, old growth trees and an amazing camellia garden. The employees are knowledgeable and welcoming, and really seem to want guests to get the best experience possible. Bonus is the farmers market held on Tuesday mornings which was small but had some great options for art, produce and gift items.
We are so happy to hear that you loved your time with us, Carrie! Thank you for spending your time with us, we hope you're able to return soon.

    Great Place to Visit
The museum has a number of good exhibits focusing on the Hilton Head area and the salt marshes. I also had booked a tour of the surrounding historic Honey Horn plantation. The docent, Ken, did a great job showing me and explaining both the marsh and upland areas. The extensive Camellia Garden (over 135 species) was in bloom and beautiful.
We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and your tour with Ken! Thank you for spending your time with us, we hope you'll return soon.

    Interesting Museum
Great way to spend a couple of hours on a pretty January day! Free museum and open grounds to visit with lots of information about the area's history. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful and proud of their museum. We were there while the camelias were in bloom on the grounds and they had over 100 types - very pretty. Small gift shop. Donations accepted to help defray the operating costs.
We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your visit and hope you'll return soon!
