Another thing to query before renting would be with regards to air conditioning. There are some issues with A/C ours did get resolved.
Family vacation with my 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. The unit was perfect for all of us as was the resort.
Shannon was awesome to deal with and very thoughtful and considerate.
Great for family vacations!
Police also seem to frequent this establishment as it has a dirty history with some members of society that you probably do not want to be associated with.
The pool is nice, but similiar to an all inclusive resort in the sense that you pretty much need to wake up early to ensure a seat, it is packed, and noisy.
The units are nice, however there always seems to be a problem with the geothermal system, this will ensure cold winters with your heat kicking in and out, and hot hot summers (no a/c).
Parking is probably the most annoying part of this "resort", charging more than you would in a metropolitsn city. For $15/day, $90/week or $400/month, you have the pleasure of parking in a unpaved, dirt pit.
For the price, you might as well stay at The Delta Grand, where you have a restaurant, vallet and all the ammenties you should for the price.
For long term renters, I would reccomend "The Cove" where I currently live and absolutely love!
I would never reccomend this place to anyone. Its a shame that the strata members have ruined a beautiful building and location. Shame.
Walking into the units you are greeted with what looks like very nice finishing...granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, dark floors, open layouts but a closer look reveals things were built quite poorly. Cheap finishings (cupboards, dinner tables, chairs, appliances etc) that pick up every scratch and dent. Apparently the furnishing options for the units was very limited and generic at the time of construction and suffer from the same uncomfortable, awkward sofas, chairs etc. Trying to keep the unit free of dust was a challenge with the ventilation system...one day all your surfaces would be clean...the next they all had a healthy layer of dust collecting on them. For a complex which is supposed to be constructed of concrete...every noise from your neighbors could be heard. And in the summer when lots of guests fill up the rental units, loud music could always be heard from your guests above and to each side.
The amenities are nothing to boast about. The gym is something to laugh at with cheap equipment shoved in a cold room as an afterthought with very little atmosphere. The common room always sits empty...probably because it is a large space that isn't the least bit inviting. The pool and hot tub are average. They can be nice if you can beat the crowds or don't mind sharing an 8 person hot tub with 15 other drunk idiots in the summer time. For a complex that charges its owners upwards of $500/month in maintenance fees I though maybe a little more effort would be put into making the grounds more accommodating and offering a few more amenities. Instead, the money goes to security guards that sleep at the front desk or tell you not to park at the front entrance as you try and unload your groceries.
In short, the complex is way over priced, noisy, cheap and not worth all the hype.
This whole review may sound very negative, but honestly there are not many positive things to say about this not so high end complex. If I had known about these downfalls prior to signing a one year lease I would have rented somewhere else. I just want to give anyone who may be thinking of renting or purchasing a place here a heads up...don't make the same mistake I did. Do your homework first! You will get much more value for your money else where.
"Grocery shops are 10-15min by car. Everywhere is wineries. West Kelowna isn’t the city center, you should pass the bridge to downtown."Read full review
