Oscar and the whole staff was wonderful. Breakfast great and we were well taken care of the whole time. One of my all time favourite.
I arrived early on a Sunday to a very friendly and helpful staff, who accommodated me and allowed me to check in (and thus take a nap) before giving me a ton of tips on how to get around. The hotel is located out of the centre of the city, which was fine as I was ultimately attending IESE for a meeting (and it is a 5 minute walk up the hill).
Returning back, I was greeted by other staff, and in total probably had noteworthy interactions with 5 or 6 different staff members, all of whom remembered me and I feel were the type of people who genuinely were keen on helping the customers.
I happened to be on the city bus with one of the staff who talked to the driver to make sure to let me off near a restaurant i wanted; some shared various insights into seeing the city (and went to the effort of walking out of the hotel to show me where to go, etc.).
A staff member from IESE informed me that a lot of his colleagues stay at the hotel and they have always had a high opinion of the hotel, which does not surprise me.
In terms of the hotel itself, it is quite modern and very clean. The room was nice and again very clean, with a nice decor - the bathroom was also quite nice and had a good array of amenities.
The breakfast was tasty and on one of the days was made to order; the other was buffet but both were nice.
The tourist bus (double decker) comes quite close and stops at the monastery (about a 3 minute walk), which is very handy. Numerous city buses stop across the street and go to the Placa Catalunya (downtown Barcelona) in about 30 minutes; the metro station is about 15 minutes walking away and you can take the bus there as well. The airport is not terribly far away, as it is also on the west side of the city.
Overall, this is a great hotel option and certainly hope to be staying here again in the spring!
Hotel is located in the suburb, very close to IESE business school - it was not a difficult bus, metro or taxi ride with a short walk to get to the main Barcelona attractions, about 30 minutes on average. Quiet neighborhood but easy to get downtown.
Breakfast is OK without being spectacular and lunches looked to be very good. The hotel is a little removed from the hotspots of Barcelona, but taxis are readily available. A walk to the nearest shops/restaurants would take about 15 minutes (to Diagonal Street). Coming back may take a little longer as it is mostly uphill.
I don't know about value for money as the company paid, but I expect the cost would be on the high side.
Rooms great, may be a little cluttered with the bed "accessories" but brilliant bathroom and everything that could be required there.
Breakfast was excellent as well with some new takes on scrambled eggs.
Overall, an absolute delight and we will be back......
"Taxis are very cheap, direct bus with AC from Pedralbes to Placa de Catalunya, excellent restaurants around this venue"Read full review
