Hotel Granvia is situated in the middle of Barcelona, easily reached via public transport and walking distance from shops, restaurants and sightseeing spots.

Our check in procedure was a bit of a letdown….. When we entered the hotel and lobby, there was a guest complaining about the air-conditioner in their room, and there was only one man behind the counter helping people. Consequently, we had to wait about 10min before we were helped.
The man was friendly enough and took care of the necessary duties, but as he was finishing and explaining the room features and what was included in the price, we asked about breakfast and he said it was not included in the room rate.
I told him that we did book a room with breakfast included and he said it was not showing in the system, and that we have to contact the online third party agent through which we made the reservation. Only when we showed him our confirmation e-mail and information, did he make an effort to look up for some more information, and actually did find it somewhere in a file that we are entitled to breakfast. He offered some excuse about the system not updating or something like that.

So we made our way up to the room, there is only one small, old elevator which takes a really long time, so taking the stairs is actually an option to get upstairs and downstairs quicker.
The hotel, lobby, stairs and dining room are all really elegantly and simply decorated ~ a nice and pleasant look and feel.

The rooms are small. We took one of the cheaper rooms with an outward facing view….. Basically no view and a wall of another building a few meters away.
All the expected facilities and amenities are in the rooms ~ toiletries, mini fridge, safety deposit box, coffee and tea.

They provide free afternoon tea and snacks, but options and quantity is limited, so best to be there when it starts in order to enjoy this, too late and it might all be gone.

The breakfast was a decent selection of hot and cold dishes, as well as a variety of drinks.
There was one lady working the breakfast shift (unfortunately cannot remember her name) and she was a delight! She was always armed with a smile and ready for a quick chat and some suggestions and helped however she can. She is a star and definitely made our stay so much more pleasant.

All in all a decent stay, affordable and the location is definitely a bonus and works in favor for this hotel.

After spending 2 weeks in India, I was really looking forward to a change of scenery in Barcelona. From the minute we checked into the Hotel Granvia, I was thoroughly impressed. Lydia checked us in and was quick to provide tips for dinner, sights to visit and overall insight into my first visit to Spain. Throughout our visit, she constantly would provide great information and advice, always with a smile.

The morning buffet was fabulous and so was the help. Cristina and Zainab were very sweet and gracious. We were always greeted with an "ola" and a smile. Both ladies were very attentive and always came by with some fresh pastries, sparkling wine and other goodies. Even though the buffet price was a bit high, it was totally worth it for the variety, freshness and outstanding customer service.

The room was a bit smaller than what I am use to but it was clean, had a nice balcony, walk in closet. As I mentioned earlier, I had just come from India so I needed my clothes laundered. the service here was prompt and affordable. I submitted my laundry bag in the morning and we returned from our daily excursion, I had fresh clothes waiting for me on the bed.

Overall, wonderful experience here and would definitely come back, Moi bueno!

I was amazed by the decor, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff.
The location was perfect.
Breakfast was served in a stylish room and had a vast variety of food to choose from.
On my last day, Peter was the waiter in the breakfast room. He was very attentive to all guests and carried out his job efficiently and in a friendly manner and also with a smile.
I woukd thoroughly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in Barcelona.

My husband and I were scheduled to travel to Spain late September/early October but unfortunately due to Covid-19 are flight has already been cancelled. I preceded to cancel the hotel reservations that we had at all of our destinations. We received no obstacles until I tried to cancel Hotel Granvia Since I very stupidly booked a prepaid room they are sticking to their no refund policy. I tried to remind them we are not cancelling on a whim and if it wasn’t for this pandemic we would certainly be there. I was told that “thousands of people are traveling to Spain everyday” so they did not see my concern. After a few emails back and forth, I was offered a future credit which is basically worthless. If thousands of people are traveling to Spain they should have no problem rebooking the room. Their attitude is we have a policy and we are sticking to it no matter the circumstances. I realize they are a business that got hurt but if you are in the hospitality business you should try and be more hospitable. Instead I feel like they robbed me of over $1500 and we could use that money back. I am sure the manager will respond with a preworded standard reply. Please don’t bother

Dear Patricia A, We are sorry to read that you are not satisfied on how we are managing room cancellations in our Hotel. It hasn’t been easy dealing with all the room cancellations and we have tried to offer coherent alternative for our guests satisfaction, what we have mostly achieved without problems. First, we would like to clarify that we are not sticking in our non-refundable policy, as we are giving the option of keeping the credit for one year to rebook in the hotel, what’s not included in this kind of reservations. The situation is changing every day and your reservation is for October (total cost of 288€) we don’t know how the situation will be by the time of your reservation. Even so, we are offering you the option of keeping the credit to rebook. We also inform you that we read all our comments and we do not respond with a pre-worded standard reply. We like to give a clear and real answer to the guest that take their time to post their comments and to all the Trip Advisor community. Kind regards,

Would definitely stay here again, very welcoming and friendly staff, beautiful stylish hotel (although our room did not have a view, but there was a lovely terrace). The location was second to none, right off the main shopping avenue, very close to the metro (and main trainline for the airport) and Playa Catalunya, which meant we could easily stop back there during the day to rest and recharge. Shame the breakfast was not included in the price and it was a bit pricey to pay for as a supplement when you have so many other eateries in Barcelona.

The Granvia is a centrally located hotel located within easy walking distance of the Plaza Catalunya.

Plaza Catalunya is easily accessible via various public transportation options, including the Aerobus service from Barcelona Airport.

The hotel check in process was friendly, simple and we were squared away in our room within an hour of arrival at the airport.

Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The AC was good and the bed comfortable.

The location was in easy walking distance of everything we were interested in seeing on this short stop-over trip prior to continuing our travels.

The property offers a happy hour in the late afternoon on there large outdoor patio off the second level to the rear which is a nice way to meet other world travelers before exploring Barcelona in the evening for a meal.

We’d have no issues booking this property again on our next trip to Barcelona.

Location! Location! Location! I can’t rave enough with how conveniently centric this hotel was. Just a few steps away from the intersection of Passeig de Gracia and Gran Via, and just around the corner from Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas—it was a great place for a first-timer like me to be based in. So many places were an easy 20-30 minute walk, or with the Passeig de Gracia metro station, an easy 15 minute subway ride. The staff were always very friendly and efficient. I decided to add the breakfast buffet option, which was a great value; I ate enough to satisfy myself until dinner haha, especially if you’re going to be busy sightseeing. The room faced Gran Via and was very comfortable and spacious. Thank you so much to the staff at Hotel Granvia for making me feel welcome and safe in your beautiful city. I highly recommend this hotel especially for its location and value.

Located 1/2 block away from Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona's Fifth avenue, and 2 blocks away from Gaudi's Battlo House, this outwardly unassuming hotel is housed in a grand old mansion beautifully renovated.
The price/quality ratio is excellent for this area.
All rooms are pleasant, pristine with excellent light and firm but comfortable bedding . Housekeepers are just amazing!
Superior rooms are wonderful and quite large.
The 3 rooms with terrasse on the 2nd floor are a bit smaller.
We loved the comfortable lounge and library giving onto a huge and beautiful courtyard on the second floor (only thing missing is a small pool ;-)
However, what makes this hotel very special is the fabulous service one gets from the professional team who bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable : "Lady" from Cuba is highly professional, patient and service oriented!
Vladimir is also a gem ( When our neighbours, 4 young women celebrating Christmas, would not stop partying and dancing flamenco, he immediatly helped us transfer to a quiet room away from them).
Thank you both for a wonderful stay!

Centrally located but quiet, housed in an old but very charming building. Fabulous service by the team. Classic room is a little tight but very clean and nice, bathroom can be better.

Location: excellent
Centrally located and approximately two blocks from Plaça de Catalunya and the Aerobus. Very convenient to get from anywhere to the hotel and from the hotel to anywhere in Barcelona, as well as the airport. Loved how close it is to the main shopping street (Zara is just steps away!) and public transport but also very quiet.

Service: warm hospitality
We loved the team at Hotel Granvia. Check-in was efficient and fuss-free. We liked how the front desk was ever ready to welcome us (and other guests) with a smile, offered assistance at all times of the day and even gave us tips on where to visit and what to do in the city. Housekeeping was a star! We always returned to a very clean and neat room, complete with fresh towels whenever we needed them replaced.

Room: a little tight but clean and functional
Between us, we had a lot of luggage and bags so their classic room was rather tight for us. Would recommend booking a larger room for those with more bags so that you get more space. The bathroom is clean, small and has a bit of a smell but didn’t bother us enough to ask for a change of rooms. Would have liked if they did something about it because the unpleasant smell can get quite ☹️. We didn’t have a view of the streets but it was all right because it was quiet.

Perk: 24/7 coffee and tea
On level 1 is a lobby that opens into a terrace. Perfect spot to lounge at and grab a complimentary cup of coffee and tea at any time of the day. In the morning, breakfast is served here. We loved how we could pick up a coffee to start our day and also fuel up in the afternoon. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, they offered bar service and welcome drinks (6-7pm). What a lovely touch to the stay!

100/10 recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a restful stay in the city centre 💯

We stayed here for 2 days at the end of August while Barcelona was experiencing very high temperatures.
The Hotel is an absolutely beautiful building and the bedrooms have high ceilings which keep them cool.

We had a wonderful warm welcome to the Hotel from the lovely Lady ( thats her name ) at reception. She was so friendly and was like that each time we saw her. She and the rest of the staff are a credit to the hotel.

The breakfast has a great selection and there is free tea and coffee available throughout the day.

The terrace is lovely and would benefit from having a small bar during the week rather than just at the weekends.

The location of the hotel is excellent just one block from El Corte Ingles and surrounded by shops and restaurants. It's also very handy as the Placa de Catalunya is where u get the bus to and from the airport.

Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone 👍

They do have a family room that can accommodate three people. You can book the room without breakfast and add it later if you like for 10-12 euros. From the airport we take the Airbus to Plaza Caralunya, for 5.90 euros pp, and from there is about 4 blocks walking, or you can take a taxi where the bus leaves you off and it costs about 8 euros to the hotel . Or you can take a taxi from the airport for about 35-40 euros. Yes, there us an elevator. Taxes are very low, around 3 euros pp per day up to 7 days. I am not sure how much a taxi costs from the port, but I would guess around 20-25 euros, .
