Obviously a wise choice if you need to be near the train station but it is quite far from the main tourist sites i.e., La Rambla central boulevard is a good 40-minute walk but tedious if you are pressed for time. Sagrada Familia is even further. Subways and buses are accessible in the nearby neighborhood along the main Carrer de Sants which is a lively street filled with shops and cafes and even a mercado (Mercado de Hostafrancs). The room is clean but the bath and toilet are in closets and the sink is part of the bedroom so having no actual bathroom was unexpected. Also, I was disappointed that as a Marriott Platinum Elite member they did not offer me a free breakfast option. The reception staff tried to appease me and they were nice about explaining their policy.

We are very well connected with the city center, is just 10 minutes by metro or train to Plaza Catalunya and Sagrada Familia. The main train and metro station are just 2 minutes walking from the hotel. Furthermore, being well connected to the city center, train can also be taken to other tourist attractions such as Sitges, Girona, or the high-speed train to Madrid. Unfortunately, in the AC brand breakfast is not free for elite members. But, using the welcome gift voucher you can have breakfast with a very reduced price for you and your accompanying. Hotel is opposite Estacio Sants with easy connections via subway and bus. Room needs upgrading. Shower has no storage area and the walls are peeling. Bed is comfortable, Breakfast a dismal assortment of cold cuts with two small hot pots which contain a stew of some sort and bacon. Internet not always reliable. I'd stay here again if the price is below 150 Euro a night

The great feature for this hotel is its location, situated right opposite of the Barcelona-Sants train station. But you need to get out of the correct exit from the station. Suggest ignoring Google’s direction, instead, asking the train station staff for AC Hotel, they will point you to the exit door right facing the Hotel. We used Google first, it showed us a big loop going around the station to reach AC. Luckily I asked someone who directed us to the right exit door, from there we could even see The AC Hotel right in front of us! Apart from the train station, AC Hotel is also close to Metro and taxi stands.
The other good thing worth to point out is that most of the service men and women working at reception and the restaurant & bar have quite good command of English, this is not always the case in Spain.
Having said that, we found this hotel soulless. From the deco to the staff are somehow lifeless, the atmosphere is rather cold. It doesn’t have the kind of relaxed holidaying vibe. We stayed there in September, right in the celebration of National Day of Catalunya, everywhere was buzzing, but it’s extremely quiet at AC Hotel. We ended up went to another hotel joining the celebration and watched the fireworks from there.
This Hotel may be good for business stay, but if you want to have a fun filled holiday, it may not fit the bill.

The AC Hotel Sants is a block away from the Barcelona Sants Train Station and a block away from another train line. Javier, at the desk, suggested that we use a T10 Metro ticket to go around Barcelona. He also gave an option of using a Barcelona Card; however, for our situation, he recommended the T10, and it was the most thrifty way to get around the city.
The streets were well lit at night that people were still walking around at the wee hours of the night, a testament to the safety of the area. Restaurants along the Passieg de Sant Antoni was conveniently located to enjoy a late night Sangria with tapas. We walked around the neighborhood by the hotel, and found Laundromats, a second hand store, Mini-markets, hardware store, and more restaurants. "To really know a city, walk around where the natives live."

The hotel is right next to the main station in Barcelona. We stayed for one night as we had an early train leaving in the morning. Our first room had a water leak from the ceiling. I notified the front desk there was a leak. They told me I could move rooms. I asked if they could bring a key to me as I needed to be so where and was trying to get ready. Told I needed to go to the front desk myself. Moved to new room. Both rooms had paint peeling in the showers. The rooms are very strange. The toilet feels like a closet. The sink is basically in the room with a moveable wall. The hotel breakfast staff were very nice. The tortilla was terrible, extremely salty and soggy. Everything else at breakfast seemed fine. I am gluten free and they had very little I could eat but some fruit and meat and cheese. The front desk staff were lackluster at best. So happy we only stayed for one night

Our stay was fantastic. We stayed at this hotel for two nights after spending two nights in Madrid at AC Hotel Atocha. Both hotels were right outside the main train stations so it was super convenient. This hotel is super well located. I was able to walk to so may places (i.e Arena de Barcelona, Plaza España, Blai Street, etc.) or just walk to the train station and grab the metro. There are so many patisseries in the area where you can have breakfast (I recommend Forn Balta, 5 minute walk). I also liked the fact that I can interact with the locals. Everything around the hotel is where the locals eat or spend their time. The customer service was fantastic, everyone was helpful. The room was basic but good enough for what we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel. If you are planning visiting both Madrid and Barcelona the AC Hotels work great!

We had a one night stopover in Barcelona to watch a match at Camp Nou. The hotel is very close to the stadium and walking distance from the Sants train station which made it very easy to plan a single day trip to Barcelona. The hotel is clean but basic. Shower is very small and bare. Complementary tea coffee is available to all guests in the common eating area only and not in the rooms. Good but limited breakfast options. Clean comfortable stay, recommended for short stays only.

AC Sants is conveniently located near the Barcelona Sants station. Therefore going to different places in Barcelona will not be a problem since you have the Metro and Train Station right by the hotel.
Hotel was reasonably prized, clean and the staff are friendly, and are there to help if need be.

We chose this hotel because of the location (next to a large train/metro station) and price (cheaper than downtown). The shower was adjustable and powerful - love it! The hair dryer was also powerful, which is not the norm in hotels. Nice towels, robes/slippers available. The breakfast assortment was fabulous - meats, cheeses, cereals, eggs, etc. There are many bars and restaurants within 2 blocks, which was very convenient.

The only good thing about the hotel is its location. Now being part of Marriott, you would expect a bit more quality but this is not the case. Rooms are OK but the AC is extremely noisy. The windows are not well sealed and you can hear people yelling outside all night (not a nice neighborhood). The breakfast is extremely poor and at the room rate was close to the 400€/night which is ridiculous for the services received. Not recommended.

The world is on High Alert in this time and age. If the hotel has a luggage storage service, then they should have precautions of having the correct identification to match the name on the luggage.
I agree with the people who answered previously:
1. Travel light. This hotel has laundry service, or if you prefer, there are laundromats within a block away from the hotel. Laundromats are good places to meet locales.
2. This hotel knows the answer to your question. "Contact the hotel directly" is not the answer you want, because you're already "googling," "yahooing" or "search engineering" AC Sants, but honestly, they will give you the best answers. The property manager occasionally reads Tripadvisor. They might answer your question here.
3. If you really want to bring your suitcase. Airport or Train Stations have lockers you can rent. From what people say, it's insured. There may be some liability involved for hotels to keep luggage. What do you think will happen if it gets lost, or if there's some contraband, or something that goes KABOOM? I would not want to place that burden on anyone to watch my luggage unless there's a guarantee.

We just stayed there last month and have the exact same status as you. We were upgraded to a superior room. They do not offer free breakfast but they did give us a welcome gift credit that we could use towards breakfast.
Dear Rocío, the hotel is not really close to the ramblas by walk, it takes for 45 minutes from our hotel. But we are close to a metro station and to the city center takes 15 minutes.
