Detailed Reviews
We spent a night there. It was clean. The wifi was alright. The decoration is a bit old but still fine. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, it was lovely meeting him. When you're inside the room, you do not bother any more with the potential noise of the highway

I had stayed at this little motel once before, so I thought I'd try it again. When I booked, the man said that if I arrived after 10:30, I'd have to phone and when I told him I didn't have a cell phone, he informed me that I'd have to be there before 10:30. Period.
So I arrived about 9:45, checked in and then ran an errand that took me about an hour. When I came in and went to draw the drapes, I noticed a bug about the size of my little fingernail, dark gray with red markings on the side of the curtain.
I went down to the office, which was locked. There was a phone number on the paper in the window and an extension "127" to phone in case of 'emergency'. Returning to the room, I dialed the number and waited and waited. The phone was dead, despite the sign outside that guaranteed "Free local calls". I checked the plug in - still dead.
So I decided to sleep in the bed the furthest away from the window. As I was preparing for bed, I saw a movement on the other duvet....a spider!! I killed it and by this time, I was really tired so went to bed.
In retrospect, I should have just left....
In the morning, I informed the man at the desk (a different man) about the bugs and the phone. He asked me what I wanted and I asked him what he was offering.
He said he would check the room. I told him that he wouldn't find the bug at this point. When I he entered the room, he checked the curtain...no bug. He asked me where the spider was and I told him that I had killed it and brushed it on the floor.
He checked the phone by dialing "127" and listened for about 1 whole minute...nothing. He made NO comment.
When we walked back to the office, he asked my again what I wanted...."money??" I again asked him what he was offering. At this point he said, "I cannot do anything." PERIOD. I asked, "Nothing?" He just shook his head and I left.
I will be contacting the Brandon Chamber of Commerce and the Health Department.
Unless you are ABSOLUTELY desperate, find another motel. If you really must stay here....check EVERYWHERE for bugs and make SURE that the phone is working.
If I could give this place a worse rating, I would. Normally, I'm not all that particular about my lodgings....I need clean, reasonably comfortable bed, shower and a phone (that works, preferably!!).....nothing in the least bit luxurious...
This fleabag (maybe literally) did not even come close to meeting these very minimal standards...
Good luck....

On behalf of the new management team I regret your unpleasant experience at our motel last time. We, the new management team, took over the business as of end of December 2015. We've made a comprehensive renovation works at each chalet and will be paying utmost attention to our guests' voice.

I checked in for 6 days. Not once did anyone change my towels, the WiFi didn’t work, kept shutting of and was so slow when it was on that I couldn’t even get on messenger.
I couldn’t work from my room, I had to go to McDonald’s down the road to get WiFi to work.
I ended up buying my own toilet paper because no one came to replenish and I started with half a roll of single ply.
You have to run the hot water for 5 full minutes before it starts to warm up and you can’t have the tv, microwave and phone charging at the same time or it blows the fuse and everything shuts off.
I ended up checking out early and they had tried to add almost $100 to my already paid bill!
The cable is basic (10 channels) the mini fridge didn’t work and 5 minutes after you flushed the toilet a really loud noise sounds. The paint is chipping, the drywall is cracked and the paint job looks like it is only 1 coat. the shower leaks on the floor, the shower head is only about 5’3 high. There are no plugs for the sink and tub drains. The tub is stained and rusty. The beds are hard as rock, sheets and blankets are thin and rough and very old, I ended up using my own blankets.
The floors are warped and soft in some spots.
There are no plug ins by the bed or desk or table.
The pillows are nice.

Customer service is non-existent....the manager is extremely rude and uncaring. It's all about the money and zero customer service!
Room was not clean, especially the bathroom!!!!! Gross!

I had a pleasant stay at the Little Chalet motel. I could tell that the room and washroom were kept clean (and no signs of bugs whatsoever). There's a few things I liked about this motel. The rooms are bungalow-shaped, and because the rooms are individualized (rather than one big building), you don't hear people slamming doors. Also, parking is available in front of the room you're staying in, which makes it super convenient when you're unloading or loading your bags.
The room has all the utilities you need- a mini fridge, microwave, TV, a desk, etc.
Also, the motel is located on Highway #1, and there are restaurants nearby (within 2 minutes by car).
I would stay at this motel again.

After having a severe anaphylactic reaction while we were driving from Ontario to Alberta (3 kids, husband, myself and my medical service dog), we decided to stop for the night in Brandon. I required rest and administration of medications/fluids through my central line. Our children needed a good leg stretch and a clean, comfy place to get a good night’s rest.
But, that could not happen at The Little Chalet Motel, where several rooms were available. It was because I have a medical service dog. We were told we could not rent a room. I have all of his documentation and still, we were turned away.
I am truly disappointed and with all other accommodations in the area at capacity, we are now currently driving through the night.
Thank you to The Little Chalet Motel for forcing us into a dangerous situation, driving at night, through fog, while simultaneously having to run my medication hanging from the roof of the car.
