I use AC hotels quite often and they are normally pretty basic, if a bit eccentric in design. My biggest complaint is the sound proofing, which is a general problem in Spain anyway but all the more disturbing in a hotel. This one is no exception, you can hear the people next door and the traffic from street and aisles. My room was clean and functional, shower pressure and temperature control not great but still acceptable. Check-in was extremely slow and there was not even a long queue.
The breakfast seemed expensive so I did not bother, there is several cafeteria bars in the neighbourhood, just fine if you are not a huge breakfast eater. Parking is a block away and rather expensive, too. You can walk to the city centre of Barcelona but it is not that close. Apparently there is a bus to Plaza Catalunya. The neighbourhood itself seems nice and safe and has quite a few quirky little shops and restaurants. It will actually show you a more residential than touristy Barcelona, I quite liked that.
Would go again for price reasons.

Thank you for posting this review and sharing your feedback on your experience at our hotel. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced. Unfortunately, we did not meet your expectations. Sorry for the inconveniece but we are located on the city center and is an area with a lot of movement. If you return to Barcelona, we would be happy to assign one of our quieter rooms, upon request. We try to be friendly and provide all the necessary information to our clients so maybe when you arrived we were attending the demands of other guests and this caused a slower check-in Please know that we have taken action to resolve the issues and thank you for the bringing the matter to our attention. Sincerely,

Let me start by saying that I travel every week for work, so I am platinum status at Marriott. Not that this matters, because I firmly believe all guests should be treated the same, regardless of status. The hotel staff was unwilling to accommodate anyone, and while it was centrally located, this hotel does not live up to the standards of the Marriott brand.

It started with arriving and parking. They told me they had a garage with a discounted rate. When I asked for directions, the staff pointed me to a garage down the street. However, when I went to get my car the next day, I found out that I had parked in the wrong garage. The hotel attendant had a business card with an address that she did NOT give me the day before, which would have been helpful. She simply shrugged her shoulders when I asked for further clarification.

The room was TINY. All hotel rooms in Europe are small; however, this one was terrible. I treated two of my girlfriends to the room on my points. When I arrived, they had no rooms to accommodate three people. I was told I either had to buy another room, or pay an EXTRA 80 euros for her to sleep on the FLOOR. Of our hotel room. When I tried to get another room, they then were "sold out". I complained to Marriott and they waived the fee, and then I switched to the Sheraton for the rest of my stay. Save yourself the trouble and do not stay here for a holiday.

The rooms are okay but as a Starwood gold member we didn't really have any perks like free minibar and slippers and robes and extra amenities like we did at our favorite AC Sants in BCN. This is closer to downtown but unfortunately far from any metro. It is easier to get directly to centre of town or Villa de Gracia from the AC Sants.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for sharing your experience in Tripadvisor! We would like to inform you there is one parking close to us where you can park the car, feel free to ask about it next time you visit us! You are right about hotel location, we are closer to the center and about 10 minutes walking to metro stop. We hope to see you next time you visit Barcelona! Best regards,

conveniently located in the center of the city it is a nice and clean hotel in line with AC standards.
reasonable cost and competent and nice staff
internet free in the lobby and to be paid in the room if without Marriott status (gold or plat)
if by car there is an Agreement with a parking nearby at the cost of 22€/24h that is expensive and unfortunately is the only alternative
the hotel does not have any restaurant, but nearby there are many places easily reachable on foot
