Even though I did solve the Rubik's cube and was entitled for free breakfast the next day if i put a review of 5 stars on trip advisor :)...i did not take the free breakfast, but i still feel my stay in the hotel was positive.

Pluses first:
- Biggest plus is for the staff, I needed special instructions to places which were not really touristic, and without their help i probably would have never found them. They took the time to speak to guests and help them out.
- I felt the hotel was very clean, and i'm usually sensitive to this issue.
- Breakfast was nice, small, but had all i need. I usually stress on fruits in the morning, and there was a wide selection to chose from, so i was happy.
- Internet is free and reached well the room. There was a problem with it the first day, but then it was fixed quickly.
- Location is very good, very close to nearly most important things in Barcelona.
- Transportation is easy, Maria Christina subway stop, walk two blocks and you are there.
- Large shopping mall nearby and several markets and restaurants.
- Spacious rooms

Cons:
- The hotel is a little bit old, but i felt the house cleaning made it acceptable, since it had an old feel but doesn't feel like messy old.
- I do feel a coffee/tea machine is a must in each room for a 4* hotel.
- No electricity sockets next to bed. I found only 3 under the study desk with the study light, fridge, and tv plugged in it. So you had to sacrifice something for something. Every room should have 5 plugs at least, and two of them should be next to the bed.

Usually I'm not very demanding from hotels, but I do feel that this hotel needs some few touches to become a 4 stars. Though I was not annoyed at any part of my trip, and slept well, and had a spacious room which is what matters the most.

It is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, but has the standard of a hostel. The bathrooms have not been renovated for the last 20 years and are really run down. The aircon is not working and the staff unhelpful - rather then providing a room with a working aircon, they provide a electric fan.
The road in front of the hotel is busy, so sleeping with open windows is not an option. Breakfast is very basic.
There are much better options available in Barcelona.
WiFi is free but really slow hardly enough to check your emails.

Stayed at this hotel for the recent Mobile World Congress event. The room was like a cell, with a small bed pushed up against the wall, worn carpeting and the sound-proofing was non-existent. There was a tank that kept filling with water next to my room and the noise from rooms above and adjacent woke me from 5am each day. I wouldn't stay here again. The staff however were excellent. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Shame they aren't in a different hotel in Barcelona!

Good hotel close to the Avenida diagonal. I had a junior suite and it was very spacious but not luxurious. Service at the reception was friendly and helpfull.. Breakfast was complete with plenty of choice.

What a lovely stay for my nine-year old boy and myself. All the staff were very friendly and helped us with directions, attractions and taxis.

Our room was nice and clean. It was cleaned and tidied each day, to the point where all our clothes had been neatly folded and put on our beds! I wouldnt call it 4* but I can't imagine many people going to Barcelona just to look at their hotel room.

Breakfast was very cheap and just the trick every morning.

Location-wise, the hotel is out of the centre but a ten-minute metro to La Rambla and all the other popular spots. We walked twenty minutes to the Camp Nou.

Thanks to all the staff for their service.
