Even though I did solve the Rubik's cube and was entitled for free breakfast the next day if i put a review of 5 stars on trip advisor :)...i did not take the free breakfast, but i still feel my stay in the hotel was positive.
Pluses first:
- Biggest plus is for the staff, I needed special instructions to places which were not really touristic, and without their help i probably would have never found them. They took the time to speak to guests and help them out.
- I felt the hotel was very clean, and i'm usually sensitive to this issue.
- Breakfast was nice, small, but had all i need. I usually stress on fruits in the morning, and there was a wide selection to chose from, so i was happy.
- Internet is free and reached well the room. There was a problem with it the first day, but then it was fixed quickly.
- Location is very good, very close to nearly most important things in Barcelona.
- Transportation is easy, Maria Christina subway stop, walk two blocks and you are there.
- Large shopping mall nearby and several markets and restaurants.
- Spacious rooms
Cons:
- The hotel is a little bit old, but i felt the house cleaning made it acceptable, since it had an old feel but doesn't feel like messy old.
- I do feel a coffee/tea machine is a must in each room for a 4* hotel.
- No electricity sockets next to bed. I found only 3 under the study desk with the study light, fridge, and tv plugged in it. So you had to sacrifice something for something. Every room should have 5 plugs at least, and two of them should be next to the bed.
Usually I'm not very demanding from hotels, but I do feel that this hotel needs some few touches to become a 4 stars. Though I was not annoyed at any part of my trip, and slept well, and had a spacious room which is what matters the most.
