Atoka Jo (NYUAD ʼ19) and Shunya Watanabe (NYUAD ʼ19) were named on Forbesʼ "30 Under 30" Asia list and reunited in Singapore earlier this month. (Fall 2023)

Vedant Trivedi (CAS ʼ22) has been elected vice president of the Asian-American Professional Alliance of Con Edison, an organization whose mission is to educate the NYC community about Asian culture and foster intercultural bonds. (Winter 2024)

Allie Delyanis (CAS ʼ18) married Keenan Kush (TANDON ʼ16) on August 26, 2023 after meeting at NYU in 2016. (Summer 2023)

Marilyn La Jeunesse (CAS ʼ16) married Nathaniel Monteverde (STERN ʼ16) on April 25, 2024, in an intimate ceremony in Brooklyn. The couple met during Welcome Week 2012, and they have been together ever since. (Spring 2024)

Kathy Yang (CAS ʼ14) married her husband Jake Dalaya (CAS '14) in Rome, Italy in front of family and friends, several of which were NYU alumni. (Spring 2023)

Brittany Holzherr (CAS ʼ12) and Victor Tumambing (CAS ʼ13) were joined together in matrimony on August 11th, 2023 in New York City. The couple were founding members of the school's Quidditch team and celebrated with a reception at NYU's Rosenthal Pavilion. (Fall 2023)

Phoebe Butler (Kingsak) (CAS ʼ12, WAG ʼ20) recently got married in her home state of Texas. She was joined by many NYU alumni friends and former colleagues from the Undergraduate Admissions office. It was amazing to celebrate with those through which the violet torch still shines! (Winter 2023)

Justin Barad (CAS ʼ06) pitched his company Chubby Buttons with his business partner Michael Cherkezian on the television show "Shark Tank" on March 17, 2023. (Summer 2023)

Nicole Smith (CAS ʼ06, SPS ʼ21) is now Vice President, Corporate Communications at leading digital sports platform Fanatics. (Fall 2023)

Beth R. Myers (CAS ʼ04), a partner at Burns & Levinson in Boston, has been named a “2023 Employment & Discrimination Law Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal and a 2023 “Top Woman of Law” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for her visionary work as a plaintiff employment litigator who gives voice to people who feel powerless in the workplace. Steven Lam (CAS ʼ03) and Natalia Botia-Lam (STEINHARDT ʼ06) are celebrating 10 years of marriage! They have been together since meeting at NYU Coles Athletic Center in 2005 and have a 9-year-old son. (Summer 2023)

Brian Clark (CAS ʼ01) and Katie Clark (CAS ʼ00) celebrated twenty years of marriage this past August! They met as undergraduates in the College of Arts & Sciences at NYU. Now proud parents to three boys—all hockey players—they split their time evenly between New England ice rinks and beaches. (Fall 2022)

Karen Orton Bacchi (CAS ʼ92) was awarded the GSUSA Appreciation Pin by Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. The award recognizes exemplary service to Girl Scouting, above and beyond expectations of the position held, in at least one geographic or program area. (Summer 2023)

Adam Brecht (WSUC ʼ89) will be honored with a Gay City News Impact Award in New York City in November 2022. (Fall 2022)

Allan Hess (WSUC ʼ79) is entering into semi-retirement, moving into consulting and advisory roles after decades of sales, marketing, and leadership roles in the software industry. (Winter 2023)

Virginia A. McCarthy, Esq. (WSUC ʼ79) is retiring after a 39 year career as a lawyer, practicing primarily in the insurance industry. She capped off her career as General Counsel with the Workers’ Compensation and Rating Bureau of Massachusetts. (Winter 2023)

Joseph R. Sutton (WSUC ʼ74, GSAS ʼ76) retired from U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division and has relocated from Virginia to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. (Winter 2022)

Roger Fields (ARTS, TANDON ʼ61, LAW ʼ64), was a patent attorney at Eastman Kodak for 35 years, and his work ranged from a major $100 million patent lawsuit to a Kodak-Fuji-Canon-Nikon-Minolta Joint Development Agreement for a new photographic system. In his post-retirement, Roger has served as an advisory counsel for 7 years. (Summer 2023)

Arnold Victor (ARTS ʼ50) will be turning 92 this year. Retired as a rural pediatrician, Victor has gone back to college (Arizona State University) to update studies on bioethics and reforming the U.S. Health Care Delivery System, as well as taking fun classes in film, music, art, short story, philosophy, and poetry. Victor has not lost interest in the arts and humanities which he took in NYU as an undergraduate. (Spring 2023)

Barry J. Litwin (DEN ’74) has retired from general practice in Nutley, New Jersey. (Winter 2022)

Graduate School of Arts & Science

Alexandra F. Morris (GSAS ʼ18) graduated with her PhD in history from Teesside University in September 2022, with the graduation ceremony held in July 2023. Since then, Morris has co-edited her first volume on disability in ancient Egypt and has started her new role as Associate Lecturer in Heritage and the Humanities at the University of Lincoln. Finally, she is the co-founder of the UK Disability History and Heritage Hub which was awarded funding in August 2023 from the Northern Network for Medical Humanities. (Summer 2023)

Laura R. Aldrich (GSAS ’18) was selected by the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in support of Parkinson’s Disease research. As a part of the trek with Team Fox this August, Aldrich has pledged to raise $10,000 in memory of her father Boyd Aldrich who passed away in 2021 after 23 years with Parkinson’s. (Winter 2023)

Ailin Tomio (GSAS ʼ16) has recently obtained a position at the Mind, Behavior and Development Unit of the World Bank as Behavioral Scientist and sees it as a great opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired at NYU's Social and Consumer Psychology Masters degree program. (Fall 2022)

Nuha Abujaber (GSAS ʼ14) was voted to join the board of the Jordanian Tennis Federation, working on the development and promotion of the game of tennis in the country. (Summer 2023)

Dr. David Sterling Brown (GSAS ʼ12, ʼ15) earned tenure at Trinity College in Connecticut and was promoted to associate professor last fall. He also published his first book, Shakespeare's White Others, with Cambridge University Press, and he is currently doing a book tour throughout 2024. The book was acquired by Tantor Media and released in February 2024 as an audiobook, narrated by Brown. (Winter 2024)

Sierra McCleary-Harris (GSAS ʼ12) was promoted to associate editor within Fordham University's marketing and communications division. She joined Fordham as an assistant editor in 2020. Prior to that, Sierra served as copy chief at Adventure Media & Events. (Summer 2023)

Ada Limón (GSAS ʼ01) was named the nation's 24th U.S. poet laureate earlier this year. (Fall 2022)

Gallatin School of Individualized Study

Anita Rojas Carroll (GAL ʼ14) and Ethan Lashman Van Buren (CAS ʼ13) were married on June 4, 2022, in Brooklyn, New York with several NYU alum in attendance. The couple met in the Spring of 2012 in the Tisch Open Arts Program's "Topics in Cuba" class and reconnected many years later in 2019. (Winter 2023)

Tonya Ingram (LS ʼ11, GAL ʼ13) was a native Cincinnati poet who has been honored at the Getty Museum, Madison Square Garden, San Francisco Opera House, Nuyorican Poets Café, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Lexus Verses and the Flow variety show, and The Price is Right. She wrote How to Survive Today, a collection of poems, prompts, and affirmations for those of us still finding our way. (Winter 2023)

Jacqueline Simonovich (GAL ʼ11) has been elected as the Diversity Director for the Barristers Board of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF). (WInter 2023)

Alexis Haselberger (GAL ʼ03) is pleased to announce that she has now taught over 100,000 students through her 3 online courses (Time Management Mastery: Do More, Stress Less, Frazzled to Focused and Hybrid Leadership: Essential Skills to Lead from Anywhere). She is currently working on a new course about how to thrive as a working parent, which will be available later this year. (Winter 2023)

Elizabeth Wilkerson (LAW ʼ15) has joined Reynolds Frizzell LLP in Houston. As a trial attorney, Elizabeth delves deep into research and quickly learns the facts of a new case to help her clients tackle any type of challenge. She has mastered the cross-disciplinary approach, with experience spanning the banking, insurance, media, and oil and gas industries. (Fall 2022)

Kevin Ryan (LAW ʼ00) announced his retirement later this year as president and CEO of Covenant House International more than 30 years after he first joined the charity to provide civil legal services to youth facing homelessness. (Summer 2022)

Alan E. Weiner (LAW ʼ72) has received the 2023 Gary H. Friedenberg Service Award from the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County, NY. (Spring 2023)

Jarrett James Lash (GLS ʼ22) has been selected to serve as a UNA-USA (UN Foundation) Global Goals Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goal #11, Sustainable Cities and Communities. (Winter 2023)

Genevieve Morente (MEYERS ʼ19) and Francisco Custodio (SPS ʼ23, STERN ʼ25) are celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary in April 2024! Both are pursuing their master’s degrees, and Francisco will soon be a double Violet this December. (Spring 2024)

Jennie Lipari (MEYERS ʼ97) retired from private practice as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and moved to Florida and is now President of their 1359-member Condominium Assnn which is self-managed. (Spring 2023)

Samantha O’Connell (SPS ʼ24, TANDON ʼ26) is celebrating her graduation with a 3.815 GPA, Cum Laude Latin Honors, an NYU Founders’ Day Award, and with other student leadership awards and honors. She's an avid community member, volunteer, and lends a helping hand. She created the "NYU Getting Started" presentation from her research and experiences to help other multiracial first-generation students navigate university. Samantha is continuing her education at NYU Tandon. (Summer 2024)

Mel Baxter (SPS ʼ22) founded The Mel Baxter Group, LLC, an executive coaching company with the goal of empowering women in the workplace. (Fall 2023)

Thomas Koty (SPS ʼ20) and Mirta Rodriguez (SPS ’01) officially tied the knot at the Central Park Boathouse in December 2022! (Winter 2023)

Stefani Bralock McCoy (SPS ʼ19) and Nyasha Bralock McCoy (CAS ’05) celebrated their marriage in Central Park on November 11, 2022. Stefani and Nyasha’s career has been rooted in social impact and racial justice since graduation. All guests who witnessed their ceremony also attended NYU. (Fall 2022)

Malika Harrison (SPS ʼ17) has been hired to serve as the first president and CEO of MENTOR’s newest statewide affiliate, MENTOR Florida. MENTOR champions expanding quality and quantity mentorships for young people in collaboration with 24 affiliates across the United States and aims to drive equity and close the mentoring gap. (Summer 2024)

Major Rafael Hernández (SPS ʼ17) recently completed 20 years of military service in the U.S. Army National Guard. He currently serves as the Battalion XO for 3/278th ACR in Texas. (Spring 2023)

Sandra Grisolia (SPS ʼ16) is celebrating 7 years working for the government. Sandra started her journey in a congressional office and has now moved on to working as public affairs for U.S. Small Business Administration. (Winter 2023)

Jess Grossman (SPS ʼ12) was featured in People Magazine on her efforts to break the stigma around ostomy surgery. (Spring 2023)

Channon Lucas (SPS ʼ11) just completed her fifth year as chief administrative officer at the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. (Winter 2024)

Issa Yaya (STEINHARDT ʼ21) was recently awarded the prestigious Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship and will be pursuing a two-year masters degree at Cornell University in the fall. Upon graduation, Issa will enter the Foreign Service as a United States diplomat. (Winter 2024)

Tara Holzer (née Muoio) (STEINHARDT ʼ17) and Steven Holzer (STEINHARDT ʼ17, ʼ18) were married on June 25, 2022 by fellow alumnus Jack Bandarenko (STEINHARDT ʼ17) at Queens Botanical Garden. (Fall 2022)

Jessica Hawk (STEINHARDT ʼ15) is CDC's Strategic Information Branch Chief in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. (Fall 2023)

Melissa Muscato (STEINHARDT ʼ14) was married in Larkspur, Colorado. Several NYU alumni were in her bridal party, including Zachary McDermott (GSAS, Wagner), Lauren Hood (Steinhardt), Kathleen McFarlane (Steinhardt, Tisch), and Bridget Kelly (Steinhardt). There were also several alumnni of the Performing Arts Administration Program both in the wedding party and in attendance as guests including: Sachiko Ninomiya, Lauren Hood, Melissa Muscato, Seth Eckelman, and Kathleen McFarlane, all from the class of 2014. Jeanette Toomer (STEINHARDT ʼ93) publishes her first book, a memoir, titled Precious Struggles: The Making of a 21st Century Woman. Her story covers challenges with reproductive health rights, racism, and cancer, among other continuing societal concerns, that bridge the two centuries. (Summer 2023)

Dr. Madeleine Hsu Forte (STEINHARDT ʼ84) continues her post-85th birthday performances in Connecticut and New York with her group The Lillibridge Ensemble. The ensemble will be performing at Klavierhaus on Sunday, April 7 at 7:00 PM EDT. (Winter 2024)

Sandra Langer (STEINHARDT ʼ74) is celebrating the publication of her 10th book: Erase Her: A Survivor's Story. An anti-conversion memoir about her conversion abuse during the dark ages of psychiatry during the mid-1950s. (Winter 2023)

Dr. Gerald L. Knieter (STEINHARDT ʼ53) has been included in Marquis Who's Who for his achievements in the psychology, philosophy, and pedagogy of the arts. (Fall 2022)

Stern School of Business

Beau Gresham (STERN ʼ20) and Jenna Link (STERN ʼ21) met at NYU Stern in 2019 and exchanged their wedding vows on August 28, 2022 at the Liberty House in Jersey City, NJ. (Fall 2022)

Qin (Chloe) Zhang (STERN ʼ13) was awarded a fishing world record for alligator gar in the women's 6lb line category. (Spring 2022)

Xiang Allan Xiao's (STERN ʼ11) father wrote in on behalf of his son wanting to share Xiang's story and longtime journey battling a brain tumor since he was 8-years-old with the NYU community. In the last year, Xiang has run out of treatment options and in the time he has left has launched a couple funds to supply research on NF2 with a goal of finding a cure patients suffering from NF2 tumors. (Fall 2022)

Daniel Noboa (STERN ʼ10) has made history as Ecuador's youngest president! At 35, Daniel Noboa defied expectations, becoming the nation's 48th president and its youngest democratically elected head of state. He brings a unique blend of business savvy and political experience. While Noboa faces economic and social challenges, his NYU education and youthful vision could chart a new course for Ecuador. Kelly Sia (STERN ʼ05) has been appointed as president of Curriculum Associates. In this role, Sia will oversee sales, service, marketing, educator success, operations, and customer service. Sia joined Curriculum Associates in 2020 serving as Curriculum Associate’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer. (Winter 2024)

Marie Ivanov (STERN ʼ98) was appointed to the (ISC)² New Jersey Chapter Board as the Communications Co-Chair. (Summer 2023)

Luc Tomasino (STERN ʼ93) wanting to help Ukrainians directly and on a more intimate level, worked alongside Medical Life Lines Ukraine (MLLU), is a United Kingdom-based organization of volunteers who work towards providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine by driving an ambulance convoy to bring five ambulances from London, UK, to Ukraine. (Fall 2023)

Amy Lee (STERN ʼ86) is the as the Chief Marketing Officer for a start up commercial kitchen business in NYC, e.terra Kitchen. She also launched a second kitchen & now also a catering division. (Summer 2023)

Norman Liss (STERN ʼ52, LAW ʼ55) recently retired after 65 years in practice. During that time, among other involvements, he served as Counsel to the New York State Statue of Liberty Commission, Chairman of Development of the Ellis Island Restoration Commission, and as Counsel to the US Constitution Bicentennial Commission. Earl Co (TANDON ʼ16) married his Violet sweetheart Shayna Garkofsky (CAS ʼ15) on their 10th anniversary since meeting on the school bus to NYU Albany Day 2013. Mazel Tov! (Spring 2023)

Roger Fields (ARTS, TANDON ʼ61, LAW ʼ64) has primarily worked in the combined areas of law and mechanical/electrical engineering as a Patent Attorney, and is the recipient of 17 U.S. patents (assigned to Kodak) in the fields of analog/digital photography and inkjet printing. (Spring 2023)

Jordan Burnham-Bialik (TSOA ʼ19) and Emma Burnham-Bialik (STEINHARDT ʼ20) were married in a ceremony officiated by Eric Gelb (STEINHARDT ʼ20). (Fall 2023)

Rachel Govenar (TSOA ʼ12) and Alex Govenar (TSOA ʼ12) welcomed their first child Hugo James Doolin Govenar in July 2023 after marrying in 2021. Their wedding was officiated by Alexandre Yousefzadeh (CAS ʼ12) in Italy in 2022. "Hoping for a future Tisch attendee for little Hugo!" (Winter 2024)

Andrew Milmoe (TSOA ʼ02) is currently designing the UX of visual analytics software for rocket engineers at Blue Origin, to enable our vision of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of earth. (Fall 2023)

Tanya Zimbardo (TSOA ʼ01) welcomed her first child, Clay Cielo Doyle, in February 2022. She also curated two exhibitions, "Speculative Portraits" and "Susan Philipsz," on view at SFMOMA from April 9 - September 5, 2022. (Winter 2022)

Cecilia Vales (WAG ʼ19), founder and director of She Wins Mexico, has been named to the inaugural “itrek25” list of 25 itrek Alumni driving positive change in their industries. (Fall 2023)

Jayson Browder (WAG ʼ15) was inducted into the D.C. Society of the Sons of the American Revolution representing his 6th Great Grandfather Austin Stone. (Spring 2022)

Mariko Lockhart (WAG ʼ92) was appointed Professor of Practice at the University of Washington’s Evans School of Public Policy & Governance. (Fall 2023)

David Muirhead (WAG ʼ88) recently retired from a 40-year career in International Development, having worked with Overseas Building Operations, the Department of State, US Agency for International Development, private Design/Build Contractor Morganti Group based in Connecticut and completed assignments with Qatar based Supreme Committee for the FIFA World Cup. (Winter 2023)

Ilka Rodriguez (WSUC ʼ85) was honored with a Career Intelligence Medal in recognition of 36 years of outstanding service to the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office. (Fall 2023)
