Cindy Qiang (CAS ʼ21) has founded the non-profit Bridging Smiles Organization to use online teaching to provide oral hygiene instruction to the local pediatric population with the help of NYU's dental students. (Spring 2023)

Anjana Sreedhar (CAS ʼ16, WAG ʼ20) has recently published her first book, HEALTH CARE OF A THOUSAND SLIGHTS, which documents the history of health disparities among marginalized communities in the United States. (Summer 2023)

Allison J. Applebaum (CAS ʼ04) has published her first narrative nonfiction book, Stand By Me: A Guide to Navigating Modern, Meaningful Caregiving (Simon Element), which provides tools, advice, and strategies to assist family caregivers in delivering the highest quality of care to their loved ones without compromising their own wellbeing. Tariq Ahmad (CAS ʼ01) was recently appointed Chief of Heart Failure at the Yale School of Medicine. He spends his time taking care of patients with advanced heart failure and doing research on intersection of technology and healthcare. (Spring 2023)

Seanna-Kaye Denham, PhD FPCC (CAS ʼ98) has been named one of "54 Chief Experience Officers To Know" by Becker's Healthcare. (Spring 2024)

Dr. Michelle K. Watson (CAS ʼ94) has launched an innovative, groundbreaking healthcare equity and medical DEI media firm Elementary My Dear Edutainment Media, and an associated podcast, the Humanities in Medicine Podcast Experience. (Winter 2023)

Nicholas Rallis (WSUC ʼ85, DEN ʼ88) was the first NYU alumni to be named as an Associate faculty member of the prestigious Dawson Academy. Dr. Rallis hosts a mini-residency course at his practice, Center for Smiles, where he teaches the Dawson Academy curriculum serving dentists from the United States and around the world. Iris Dorbian (WSUC ʼ83) will be a featured speaker at the Business of Cannabis, New York Summit on November 3, held at the New York Academy of Medicine. Her feature on private equity investing in Hollywood (and production companies founded by celebrities) is the September cover story for Buyouts magazine. (Summer 2022)

Harry Mazurek (WSUC ʼ75) retired as Associate Dean for Research at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and as Director of the Cooper Research Institute. (Fall 2023)

Louis Tartglia MD (WSC ʼ72) recently published his fifth book, Last Gift of the Magi, a Christmas parable, which became the #1 new release in Religious historical fiction on Amazon. (Winter 2023)

Louis Mazawey (WSC ʼ71) is celebrating the continuation of serving as the President of The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy, the nation's only non-profit dedicated to this medical condition affecting 30 million Americans. (Spring 2023)

Jerry J. Marty, MD, MBA (WSC ʼ70) published Memories of Da’ Bronx, a historical non-fiction, post World War II account of “the way it was” for Bronxites and especially Puerto Ricans (Nueva Yorkinos). (Summer 2023)

Richard Lynn (WSC ʼ67) is presently the Immediate Past 2nd Vice-President of The American College of Surgeons, after a long career as a vascular surgeon. (Spring 2023)

Janet Kaplan Look (ARTS ʼ64) has been named the Distinguished Psychologist for 2021 by the Washington State Psychological Association. (Fall 2022)

Peter Wasserman (WSC ʼ63, GSM ʼ67) is living in Seattle after a 32 year career as an Oncologist and would love to hear from fellow WSC classmates. (Spring 2023)

Robert Lisak (ARTS ʼ61) retired as Parker Webber Chair in Neurology, Professor of Neurology and Professor of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology at Wayne State University and is now Professor Emeritus of Neurology. He was recently awarded "Giant in Multiple Sclerosis" by Neurology Live and the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers in June 2023. (Fall 2023)

Bernard Gardner MD (WSC ʼ48, GSM ʼ52) has published 3 major books on Surgery and multiple books and plays for reading enjoyment since retirement as Professor Emeritus in Surgery . His medical life and honors are described in his book: Surviving Surgery. (Fall 2023)

Maryam Irshad (GSAS ’14) has started a virtual health coaching practice, Rahman Health & Wellness, to empower and partner with individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities, helping her clients figure out what they want, identify their resources, and figure out a plan of action. (Fall 2023)

Cheryl Thaxton (GSM ʼ99) is starting a new position as Associate Dean/Chair for Graduate Studies at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. (Fall 2023)

Alejandro Badia (GSM ’89) is a world renowned hand surgeon, healthcare disruptor, and surgeon educator. His new book Healthcare from the Trenches is an open discussion of the failure of the U.S. healthcare system from the perspectives of its providers and patients. (Winter 2022)

Joan Miravite (MEYERS ’19) was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. (Fall 2022)

Sarah-Kate Rems (MEYERS ʼ12), board certified Nurse Practitioner, opened her own boutique medical aesthetic & anti-aging practice located just a block north of Madison Square Park at 245 5th avenue. (Fall 2023)

Mary Gallagher (MEYERS ʼ84) was awarded the New York Organization for Nursing Leadership's 2023 Region Leadership Award. (Fall 2023)

Marcia Zorrilla (STEINHARDT ’92) is a Public Health Specialist and Director of Positive Youth Development at the REACH, Stanford School of Medicine. She is the Project Director of Speak Up! Patricia A. Farrell, Ph.D. (GSAS ’78, STEINHARDT ’90) has been named one of the 30 Women Transforming Healthcare by Medika Life and a Top Health writer on Medium.com. (Fall 2022)

James C. O'Neal (STEINHARDT ’71) is an aging expert and dedicated community health care advocate. He has been appointed State President of AARP New York. In this position, O’Neal will chair the AARP New York Executive Council, a select leadership group of AARP New York members with an outstanding record of service and a commitment to the goals of the Association. Frederick Peter Nadelman (STEINHARDT ʼ66) received a masters degree in social work from Fordham University in 1973 and has worked for a home health agency but is now retired. (Fall 2023)

Shana Dacon-Pereira (STERN ’16) was recently recognized in the 2023 Class of honorees in Crain's New York Business "40 under 40" list. Shana is currently the assistant vice president of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion at the Mount Sinai Health System. (Fall 2023)

Harish Dave (STERN ’06) is the co-founder of AUM Biosciences, a clinical stage biotechnology company announcing that they have entered into a definitive business combination agreement with Mountain Crest Acquisition Corp. V. (Fall 2022)

Lorn Davis (STERN ’96) was named as the incoming chair of the board of directors of Pine Street Inn, New England’s largest homeless services organization. (Summer 2022)

Ramon Jacobs-Shaw (WAG ’17) was listed as a 2022 Top Diversity Leader in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare. As Chief Clinical Officer at Belong Health, he has helped to build a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. (Spring 2023)

Katie Riconda (WAG ’15) is celebrating the launch of a nonprofit organization she co-founded called MA Mom Advocates (MAMA)! MAMA connects birthing people with compassionate advocates to reduce their burden by providing resources, referrals, and connection to services before and after birth so they can raise the next generation. (Fall 2022)

Jeffrey Yip (WAG ’08) was promoted to Program Manager at NYU Langone Health in May 2022. Additionally, he co-runs the Yip's Dragon Style Kung Fu and Tai Chi Club with his father, who founded the club in 1974. (Spring 2022)

Sarah Sheffield (WAG ʼ05) is working on market access for Phexxi, which is the 1st non-hormonal prescription contraception approved by the FDA in decades! She's very excited about it, especially given the current climate around reproductive health. She also helps run the Friends of Cooper Park in East Williamsburg Brooklyn. (Summer 2023)
