The President’s Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics shall provide advice to the President through the Secretary on matters pertaining to educational equity and economic opportunity for the Hispanic and Latino community, including: (i) what is needed for the development, implementation, and coordination of educational programs and initiatives at the Department and other agencies to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for Hispanics and Latinos; (ii) how to promote career pathways for in-demand jobs for Hispanic and Latino students, including registered apprenticeships, internships, fellowships, mentorships, and work-based learning initiatives; (iii) ways to strengthen the capacity of institutions, such as HSIs, to equitably serve Hispanic and Latino students and increase the participation of Hispanic and Latino students, Hispanic-serving school districts, and the Hispanic community in the programs of the Department and other agencies; (iv) how to increase public awareness of and generate solutions for the educational and training challenges and equity disparities that Hispanic and Latino students face and the causes of these challenges; and (v) approaches to establish local and national partnerships with public, private, philanthropic, and nonprofit stakeholders to advance the mission and objectives of this order, consistent with applicable law. As a proud alumnus of The Ohio State University, I was appointed in April 2023 to serve on The Ohio State University Alumni Advisory Council by the Office of Inclusive Excellence. I was appointed by the 56th Governor of New Jersey, The Honorable Phil Murphy to the New Jersey Wealth Disparity Task Force. The Wealth Disparity Task Force will advise the Murphy Administration on strategies aimed at addressing the various causes and effects of wealth disparity in New Jersey. I was appointed by the 56th Governor of New Jersey, The Honorable Phil Murphy to the New Jersey Wealth Disparity Task Force. The Wealth Disparity Task Force will advise the Murphy Administration on strategies aimed at addressing the various causes and effects of wealth disparity in New Jersey. The Task Force, which will consist of working groups on the economy, housing, criminal justice, education, and health, will prioritize efforts towards equity among all members of the New Jersey community by studying the causes of the inequality that has prevented the state from reaching its full potential in the past. By working to achieve inclusion of groups and individuals who have previously been marginalized, the Task Force will create comprehensive strategies and solutions to achieve a fairer distribution of wealth in New Jersey.

I served on the board of directors of the Friends of the American Latino Museum from 2011 to 2020 including Chairman of the Board from 2012 to 2016.

ACCT is a non-profit educational organization of governing boards, representing more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern over 1,200 community, technical, and junior colleges in the United States and beyond.

I served as a member of the board of director for Dominicans On Wall Street (DOWS) from its founding in 1997 including a term as Vice Chairman of the Board. DOWS brought together Dominican Americans who work on Wall Street and in industries with close ties to the financial services industry.
