Once you think you have an idea, the very next step is to get others to feel the same way. Not by ‘telling’ them, but by influencing them to shift their perspective. Turning listening into action is not a ‘one shot on goal’ strategy. It takes time, energy, and most importantly, flexibility. How do you inspire change in your organizations? #LeadershipAdvice #BusinessAdvice #Leadership

My first boss, right after my first reactor plant qualification, put together a plan to perform several work requests and evolutions under the same plant and isolation conditions, reviewed the plan with me and simply asked, "what do you think of this plan?". Not "my" plan. And he was serious in that he wanted my thoughtful feedback. And I remember being blown away and reluctant to respond. He said, "spend.some time reviewing this with your team and let's talk in the.morning. I never forgot the power of "what do you think?"

Absolutely inspiring words, Oscar. Your emphasis on listening, learning, and leading aligns perfectly with the core values of people-centric leadership. It's crucial to connect authentically with the people who make our companies what they are. When people feel heard, understood, and included in the process, they help the company grow. In my experience, fostering a culture of open dialogue and continuous feedback has been key to driving change. Your point on flexibility resonates deeply; adapting strategies based on real-time insights from the team ensures that actions are impactful and sustainable. Looking forward to more such insights and discussions. #Leadership #ChangeManagement

I think there are many paths to inspiration in organizations. But as you point out, listening, is key to understanding all the critical hidden motivations in humans. When heard and given time, humans understand themselves better and then find the keys to change. Magic happens when a person is understood and can then process and express creativity. A great leader inspires employees to understand themselves first then solve problems.

#CEOScottKirby & #CEOOscarMunoz, we won't fly United after weeks of failed attempts to get a fair refund for fare delta in prem econ vs econ from a cxld international flight. Plane was taken out of svc mid-flight on our first leg- just 4 hrs b4 takeoff! Upon landing, we were rebooked on same flight # 24 hrs later but in row 44, not in row 20-flight NOT FULL. Customer Care gave $64pp for the delta "because that's what the system returns”. When I searched same flight for different times of the year, I get range of $700-$1200pp. We’re not trying to scam United or ask for refunds for the excursions we missed due to delay. We’re asking for a 14b company to refund us a fair amt (avg of above delta less $128 already refunded, which is $1772). Issuing $200 travel certs aren't useful on a singular flight & would require us to cover the cost of remaining fare. We don't intend to outlay any more funds to United until we are compensated for funds already paid for the above mentioned flight. My question to you, Mr Kirby, and Mr Munoz is how do you intend to rectify this situation? I hope it's not by telling me "I'm sorry BUT we can do no more for you". 😕

Sorry, not ever going to buy into DEI. It’s a grotesque approach to Human Resources or business. What happened to best and brightest! Diversity comes from diversity of thought regardless of race or gender. Do the first and all else will follow.
