I am writing the script for the 2024 edition of the Global WIN WINConference: Leadership Summit for the Future & Experience of a Lifetime as we like to call it. In this context, I was reading through the scripts of so many previous editions and came across the list of titles. The holistic and creative agendas, including inner work, wellness and sustainability, alongside the pursuit of gender harmony, were initially truly pioneering in the business world back 25+ years ago. Pioneering the new to create social, organisational and individual change is also not easy, not because of the creative pursuit, but because despite the many organisations and individuals who want change, many don't really like change and will often use their fear to drag you down. As more and more people embark on pioneering journeys, simply by living their own authentic lives and venturing into the unknown, the right tools and environments are required. What has always saved me has been the support of friends and a network of people who love you, or who love the ideas so much that they are willing to stand up for them and who will pick you up when you lose your confidence, and ideally when you lose your funds. Surely it is a journey of trust and resilience through highs and lows. As I write the 2024 script, I realise that creativity itself will again be a strong ingredient and so will nurturing support. I am looking forward to the upcoming edition with vital experience to share. This is not just about women - it is about all of us - bringing wisdom and joy, regeneration and trust, integrating the feminine into everything from AI to human stuff. It is time to meet again on 9.10.11 October 2024. ⭐️Update: The Cabinet’s gender-balance is 45% with 11 women out of the 24 appointed ministers so far —— U.K.’s First Gender-Equal Cabinet Appointed 🇬🇧 🚀Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has made history appointing the nation’s first-ever gender-equal cabinet, with 11 out of 22 so far appointed ministers being women. 📌Notably, this includes Rt Hon Rachel Reeves the UK's first female Chancellor of the Exchequer, an economist educated at University of Oxford and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) prior to her entry into politics. 📌The most senior minister is Angela Rayner, the Deputy Prime Minister who will also act as Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. 📌These appointments are a bold step towards inclusive leadership. Snapshot of the gender-balance record of previous PM’s: Rishi Sunak, women made up just 23% of the cabinet. With Liz Truss, 33%; Boris Johnson, 24%; and Theresa May, 30%. 📌This move will boost confidence that women's perspectives will be considered considered in lawmaking and policy decisions. With the UK population being 51% female, this is a positive step toward more inclusive economic and social development. 📌The cabinet announcements follow a parliament that is now 40% female. Congratulations to the UK for achieving its most gender-balanced government ever! 💡Leadership Lesson: Gender balanced leadership is achievable. It requires the determination and commitment of those in power to make it happen. ____ Full List Angela Rayner, Deputy Prime Minister as Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Rachel Reeves MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for the Home Department Shabana Mahmood, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education Liz Kendall,Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Louise Haigh, Secretary of State for Transport Lisa Nandy, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Jo Stevens, Secretary of State for Wales Lucy Powell, Lord President of the Council, and Leader of the House of Common Baroness Smith of Basildon, Lord Privy Seal, and Leader of the House of Lords #genderbalance #leadership #DrAnino Avivah Wittenberg-Cox | Edwina Dunn OBE | Gina Lodge | Sophia Swire | Zarin Hainsworth OBE | Silvana Koch-Mehrin

Giving birth to what organizations need: Human Business Midwife. | Executive Coach, Leadership Coach. Strategic advisor on DEI and self-organizing. Keynote speaker.

Men as allies play a crucial role in advancing gender equality, but their impact often falls short of expectations. Let’s explore why: Lack of Active Engagement: Issue: Many men express support but remain passive observers. Solution: Active engagement means advocating for change, challenging biases, and amplifying women’s voices. Unconscious Bias Persists: Issue: Even well-intentioned men harbor unconscious biases. Solution: Self-awareness and education are key. Men must actively unlearn stereotypes and actively promote inclusivity. Fear of Backlash: Issue: Men fear backlash for speaking up. Solution: Encourage a culture where allies are celebrated, not criticized. Transactional Approach: Issue: Some men view allyship as transactional. Solution: True allies commit to long-term change, not just short-term gains. Lack of Accountability: Issue: Men often escape accountability for harmful behavior. Solution: Hold each other accountable and create consequences for harmful actions. Conclusion: Men as allies can be powerful advocates, but it requires active commitment, self-reflection, and a willingness to learn. Let’s bridge the gap and create meaningful change together. When it comes to women's leadership there is not only good news As we know just ever to well, men and women, also in this study, both show levels of prejudice against women in leadership roles. This is the most frustrating prejudice for anyone awake to it and the fact that both women and men hold perceptions which are prejudiced against women’s suitability for leadership or positions of power, means that this is not about ‘fixing’ women or men. It is about how we tackle these prejudices across society as a whole. In fact, the G7 data shows not only a widening gender gap, but also a regression in the attitudes of women. https://lnkd.in/eY7WjNyZ
