Thank you, Jimmy Greene, for bringing the Memorial Cup Trophy to our Saginaw office today for a visit! After all of our hard work at the Dow Event Center in preparation to host the Memorial Cup, watching our Saginaw Spirit win the cup was the best finale. On May 17, MyMichigan Medical Care Center Alma hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new main entrance, providing convenient access to outpatient and surgical services. This marks the completion of the second phase of the project by Spence Brothers. The first phase, which included new surgical suites and a new sterile processing department, was finished in March 2024. The final construction phase, expected to be completed later this year, involves renovating the original operating rooms into private pre-operative and recovery rooms, a fully equipped post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), and a day surgery area. The newly built Milliken Nature Center at Mackinac Island's Arch Rock celebrated its grand opening on June 1. The new center is set to enhance the experience for visitors to Arch Rock, with universal access, interpretive exhibits showcasing the island's unique geology, and environmental sustainability. Building on the island presents unique challenges, especially when most construction occurs during the off-season. Thank you to our hardworking Spence Brothers crews, who are no strangers to navigating construction during the winter months on Mackinac Island. Additionally, we extend our thanks to Mackinac State Historic Parks, TowerPinkster, VIRIDIS Design Group, Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, and State of Michigan for their valuable partnerships that make projects like this possible. Since 1955, Michigan Historical Markers have told the story of Michigan and its people. They are a tangible reminder of our roots, an inspiration for our future, and the thread that ties our state together. We are excited to announce that the Saginaw News Building, now known as the SVRC Marketplace, has been honored with a historical marker. Spence Brothers originally constructed the building in 1958 and was selected by SVRC Industries, Inc. to renovate it in 2018. Alongside WTA Architects, the building was transformed into the SVRC Marketplace, breathing new life into the community. Read more ⬇

The new Milliken Nature Center at Mackinac Island's Arch Rock was designed to fit seamlessly into the natural landscape and features a stone facade and wood highlights. The Nature Center, which celebrated its grand opening on June 1, houses Mackinac State Historic Parks's newest exhibit "Arch Rock: Unsurpassed in Nature's Beauty". The exhibit tells the story of the formation of Arch Rock as well as other geological features throughout the island. Designing and building a new public space on Mackinac Island comes with a unique set of challenges. The success of this beautiful project, which will greatly improve the visitor experience while staying focused on the principles of universal access and environmental sustainability, was thanks to great partnerships with Mackinac Island Historic Parks, VIRIDIS Design Group, Spence Brothers, Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget and the State of Michigan. Congratulations to all involved!

Congratulations to the 2024 Memorial Cup Champions, the Saginaw Spirit! You have made your community proud! One last volunteer effort on Spence Brothers' behalf - the Victory Parade! Our very own Herb Spence and Rodney Schlink drove a truck featuring the DJ through the parade and into the celebration. It's been an amazing week full of excitement in our community, and what an end! Spence Brothers is honored to support the Saginaw Spirit, and we couldn't be prouder to witness our hometown team reach this incredible milestone. #UnitedWeSoar #SoarWithUs #SaginawSpirit #Saginaw #MemorialCup2024
