WTA Architects is happy to welcome Bruce Martin to our team! Bruce has taken on the role of Education Leader in our Business Development department and will be responsible for enhancing relationships in the K-12 education field, as well as supporting marketing strategies in other areas of the company as identified. Having recently retired after a 33-year career in public education, Bruce most recently served as Superintendent of the Saginaw Township Community Schools.  He holds a BA in Elementary Education and Social Sciences from Spring Arbor University, as well as an MA in Educational Administration and Community Leadership from Central Michigan University. A native of southwestern Ohio, he has lived and raised a family in Genesee County for over 30 years. Bruce has been active in local organizations such as the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance Institute for Leaders, Saginaw Valley Rotary Club, Saginaw Community Action Council, Saginaw Chamber of Commerce, and the Saginaw Township Business Association. His diverse background and deep relationships within school districts, as well as his understanding of the business of education will provide a valuable asset to our firm. In Bruce's Words ... “I’m so excited to join WTA and am eager to promote the amazing talents of my teammates throughout the state and beyond. Our students and communities deserve the very best learning environments possible and I’m confident our firm can support that vision in breathtaking, sustainable, and cost-effective ways.” Needless to say we are thrilled to have Bruce on our team. If you're in K-12 Leadership, you should expect to hear from Bruce in the near future.

Attention, fellow design enthusiasts! Our marketing maestro (who shall remain nameless to protect their dignity) recently stirred up some unintentional chaos in recent meeting of Architects and Landscape Architects. In the midst of a riveting discussion, our fearless marketer exclaimed, "What is the landscaper's perspective on this?" A hush descended on the room, and one brave soul whispered, "Did they just call us... landscapers?" That day our marketer learned a valuable lesson – and would like to share the VERY distinct differences between the two: “Our newly reformed Landscape Architecture team, directed by the extremely skilled Mark Robinson, works diligently to transform outdoor spaces into vibrant and functional environments. A Landscape Architect’s role involves detailed site planning, design conceptualization, and project management. It's a specialized field requiring formal education and licensing, emphasizing collaboration with clients, sustainability, and environmental considerations.   In contrast, a landscaper, is essential for implementing and maintaining landscape designs, focusing more on the hands-on aspects. Landscapers handle tasks like planting, hardscaping, and ongoing maintenance of the designed spaces often created by the Landscape Architect.” At WTA, we're thrilled to offer Landscape Architecture as one of our comprehensive services. Mark Robinson's leadership adds an invaluable dimension to our Landscape Architecture service. Whether it's bringing a grand regional concept to life or crafting meticulously designed gardens, our revitalized LA team is dedicated to creating outdoor spaces that seamlessly blend aesthetics and functionality, ensuring our clients' outdoor spaces are both beautiful and sustainable. #MarketingMishap #LandscapeArchitects #NotALandscaper #ArchitectMeetingFun
