🎉 Celebrating a milestone! 🎉 Our first post-pandemic cohort of Peace Corps Peru Volunteers just celebrated their Close of Service Ceremony! During their two years of living and working side-by-side with local communities, they've partnered on women's empowerment 🙋🏻 and water and sanitation projects. 💧 These Volunteers now have a lifetime full of memories, deep friendships with their communities, and impeccable language skills to continue making a difference every day. U.S. Ambassador to Peru Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath and several Peruvian officials joined in the occasion to commemorate the moment and reflect on the transformative impact of service. On this day, 60 years ago, Malawi became an independent country. 🎉 We're thrilled to welcome 19 new Peace Corps Trainees to the Kingdom of Tonga! This exceptional group includes our groundbreaking Climate Resilience Trainees, the first of their kind in Peace Corps worldwide. These pioneers will work with communities, local government, and NGOs to combat climate change, build resilience, and manage natural disaster risks. Equally, we're proud of our Education Volunteers in this cohort, who continue to engage with local communities through the power of learning. The Peace Corps is closely monitoring Hurricane Beryl as it passes through the Caribbean. All Peace Corps Jamaica and Eastern Caribbean Volunteers are safe and accounted for and supported by staff who have been trained to handle emergencies. One of the ways that you can get involved with us is through the Peace Corps Partnership Program (PCPP), which connects Volunteers and their communities with the private sector in the U.S. and around the world to fund community initiated and led projects. Staff from more than 50 countries recently gathered in Atlanta for the Global Small Grants Coordinators Workshop to connect, ideate, and share best practices on supporting small, community-based grants.
