Our PA 403 project was originally envisioned as a 13.5-mile 3R project in northern Somerset County. Working for PennDOT District 9-0, our team was tasked with the design of roadway features, two structure replacements, four structure preservations, a retaining wall, two signal upgrades, and several sight distance improvements. The project was eventually separated into two construction contracts, colloquially known as the South and North projects. The $5.3M South project was completed in 2021 and the $14.5M North project will be finished this construction season. The work involved extensive coordination with the public and property owners and will represent an increase in safety and mobility for the residents of northern Somerset County.
