Howrah businessman thrashed, home vandalised on kangaroo court diktat, TMC neta on run
SANKRAIL: A businessman was beaten up, his house and garage vandalised, and bikes thrown into a pond during a kangaroo court session held to resolve his marital dispute in Howrah's Sankrail on Monday. Two persons were arrested on Tuesday.
Though police have lodged an FIR, the man who organised the court, Jujarsaha village panchayat deputy head and TMC functionary Khaleel Ahmed, is absconding.

Victim Shahabuddin Sepai suffered swelling in his right eye and injuries to chest and abdomen. He accused Ahmed of the assault conspiracy under the guise of mediation.
About a month ago, Shahabuddin's wife left for her parental home after a dispute, leading to tensions between the two families. Shahabuddin claimed that Ahmed contacted him posing as a relative of his wife's family to organise the mediation meeting. However, Ahmed told journalists that he left the meeting as soon both the parties started fighting.
