NEW DELHI: Khagen Murmu of the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious, securing 5,27,023 votes, which is 77,708 more than the runner-up. Prasun Banerjee of the All India Trinamool Congress came in second place with 4,49,315 votes, falling short by 77,708 votes.
Alam Mostaque of the Indian National Congress secured the third position with 3,84,764 votes, trailing the winner by 1,42,259 votes.
The remaining candidates, including independents and representatives from various parties such as the Bahujan Samaj Party, Ambedkarite Party of India, Bharatiya Nyay-Adhikar Raksha Party, Kamatapur People's Party (United), Socialist Unity Centre of India (COMMUNIST), All India Secular Front, and Jan Sangh Party, received votes ranging from 8,683 to 596.
The NOTA (None of the Above) option received 7,288 votes, which is 519,735 less than the votes secured by the winning candidate, Khagen Murmu of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The constituency participated in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 7, 2024, with a voter turnout of 76.03 per cent. As one of the 42 parliamentary seats of West Bengal, Maldaha Uttar is categorized under the General category and covers a portion of the Maldaha district. The literacy rate within this constituency stands at 52.31 per cent, and it comprises seven legislative assembly segments.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the constituency saw a voter turnout of 80.28 per cent. Khagen Murmu from the BJP won with 5,09,524 votes, followed by Mausam Noor from AITC, who received 4,25,236 votes.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, the total number of voters was 1,683,797, and 1,713 polling booths were available.
