NEW DELHI: Mahua Moitra of the All India Trinamool Congress emerged victorious, securing 6,28,789 votes, which was 56,705 more than her closest rival. Amrita Roy of the Bharatiya Janata Party came in second place with 5,72,084 votes, falling short by 56,705 votes.
S.M. Sadi of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) secured 1,80,201 votes, trailing the winner by 4,48,588 votes.
Independent candidate Sanjit Biswas received 8,671 votes, while Amal Chandra Sarkar of the Bahujan Samaj Party and independent candidates Nemai Biswas and Sourav Hela obtained 5,100, 5,069, and 5,065 votes, respectively.
Afroja Khatun Mondal of the All India Secular Front received 4,298 votes, followed by Ismat Ara Mondal of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) with 3,622 votes. Independent candidates Md. Muktar Shaikh and Alik Kumar Kundu secured 3,294 and 2,708 votes, respectively.
The "None of the Above" (NOTA) option received 6,811 votes.
The constituency went to polls on April 26, 2024, during the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. With a polling percentage of 80.65, Krishnanagar saw one of the highest turnouts in the country. Situated in the Nadia district, this constituency is a vibrant representation of West Bengal's socio-cultural and political landscape, known for its rich heritage, historical significance, and diverse communities.

In the 2024 elections, the main contenders in Krishnanagar are from the AITC and the BJP. The AITC has decided to field incumbent Mahua Moitra again, while the BJP has nominated Amrita Roy. In the 2014 elections, the seat was won by Tapas Paul of the AITC, underscoring the party's influence in the region. Jha Shantanu from CPM and Satya Brata Mookherjee from BJP ended up as runners-up. Krishnanagar remains a key battleground in West Bengal's political arena.
