Jharkhand multi-story building collapse: 3 killed, many feared trapped, rescue operation underway

A building collapse at 6 am in Deoghar, Jharkhand killed three and injured three, including a child. Civil Surgeon Ranjan Sinha reported six were retrieved and taken to Sadar Hospital. NDRF, led by Inspector Randhir Kumar, and Deoghar Sub-divisional Police Officer Ritvik Srivastava are leading the ongoing rescue operation.

NEW DELHI: At least three people were killed and three others injured when a two-storey building collapsed in Deoghar, Jharkhand, early on Sunday morning.
The incident, which occurred around 6 am, has led to a massive rescue operation as several individuals are still feared trapped under the debris.
Six persons were initially rescued and brought to Sadar Hospital.
Of these, two were declared dead on arrival, while another woman later succumbed to her injuries.
"As many as six persons were retrieved from under the debris and brought to the Sadar Hospital here. Of them, two were brought dead. Another woman succumbed to the injuries. The treatment of the three others, including a child, is underway," stated Deoghar Civil Surgeon Ranjan Sinha.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is actively engaged in rescue efforts.
Deoghar Sub-divisional Police Officer Ritvik Srivastava confirmed the ongoing operations, saying, "A few more seem to be still trapped under the debris. The rescue operation is underway."
NDRF Inspector Randhir Kumar, spearheading the mission, assured that efforts are ongoing to save those still trapped, emphasizing the team's dedication to retrieving the remaining individuals.
