Met dept issues Yellow alert for Bastar div
Raipur: The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh from July 6 to 8. The department also noted that the minimum temperature may drop in next two days.
State weather expert H P Chandra said the monsoon trough lies over Bikaner, Jaipur, Gwalior, Satna, Daltonganj, Asansol, and Bagati, extending southeastwards up to the northeast Bay of Bengal.
Light to moderate rainfall or drizzle along with thunder and lightning is likely to take place at most places in the state on today.
Meteorological department has issued a yellow warning for Gariyaband, Dhamtari, Bastar, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, Narayanpur for Sunday.
Yellow alert for Monday has been issed for Pendra road, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Korba, Dhamtari, Gariyaband, Balod, Kabirdham, Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Sukma, Kanker, Bijapur, and Narayanpur.
Since June 1, an average rainfall of 200.3 mm has been recorded across the state. As per the official data Bijapur district has received the highest average rainfall of 317.5 mm, while Bemetara district has recorded the lowest average rainfall of 99.6 mm.
In contrast, Gariaband district has experienced 27 percent less rainfall in July compared to the same period last year. tnn
