Hostel superintendent suspended, booked for torturing children
Raipur: A govt residential school superintendent was accused of thrashing badly, verbally abusing and kicking the students out of the hostel on Saturday night, in inebriated condition in tribal Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. The students were between the age of 10-12 years and they somehow walked back home. Education department on Sunday has suspended the superintendent.

Based on a complaint by tribal community welfare department employee, Jashpur police have also registered an FIR in the matter under sections of BNS and POCSO Act for assault, abandoning and abusing the children.
TOI is in access with the videos of nearly a dozen children running out of the hostel, accompanied by a few parents, complaining that the hostel superintendent Narsingh Marlaj beats them badly, doesn’t give them food and is always found drunk. They said that Marlaj verbally abuses them and continuously scolded them.
The kids walked to their homes late at night and were terrified with the torture of the teacher.
The incident is reported from Dumarkola gram panchayat in Farsabahar region of Jashpur.
The superintendent was drunk even while speaking to the reporters after the incident was reported on Sunday. He confessed of scolding children and chasing them away from hostel if they cannot study properly. He stated that he was angry because the students weren’t studying properly.
According to the FIR, Marlaj had badly beaten students, pulled them by their ear and the children were inconsolably crying. When the parents reached the hostel, superintendent Marlaj was found drunk and sleeping who refused to wake up.
The hostel houses about 14-15 tribal students.TNN
