Raipur: Chhattisgarh deputy chief minister and home minister Vijay Sharma on Sunday announced that a special cell for the families of martyred police personnel will be set up to address the issues faced by them. The aim of this initiative is to provide necessary assistance and support to the families of martyred police personnel.
This comes after the families of martyred police personnel met Sharma a few days back to apprise him of their problems.
In response, the deputy CM assured them that efforts would be made to resolve their issues promptly after discussions with the chief minister.
He stated that a Martyr Police Cell is being established in each Range Inspector General of Police office. The range inspector general of police will be the chairman of this cell, and the additional superintendents of police at the Range Headquarters, along with deputy superintendents of police and inspector-level officers nominated by the Range Inspector General, will be its members.
The Cell will hold meetings at the unit level, range level, and police headquarters level on the second Wednesday of every month. During these meetings, families will have the opportunity to present their problems, and efforts will be made to address them.
A separate time slot has been designated every Wednesday for the families of martyred police personnel to present their issues. Arrangements will be made as needed to ensure that the families of martyred police personnel can attend. If issues cannot be resolved through unit meetings, efforts will be made through the Range-level Martyr Police Cell. If resolution is not possible at the range level, the issues will be addressed by the Martyr Police Cell established at the police headquarters level.
