Breaking age-old tradition, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnudeo Sai launches state-level school enrollment festival from a tribal village in Jashpur

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai stressed the importance of early education in local languages, as outlined in the new education policy. He announced the preparation of textbooks in the Sadri language, which is spoken in the region.
The Chief Minister made this announcement during the launch of the state-level school enrollment festival from the remote tribal village of Bagia in Jashpur district on Saturday evening.By initiating the school enrollment from a tribal village, the Chief Minister broke the age-old tradition of launching the festival from the state capital.
This act demonstrated his commitment to providing quality education to the farthest corners of the state. On this occasion, he announced the development of Bagia and Bandarchua schools as model schools and the establishment of a residential school for children with special needs.
So far, textbooks have been prepared in 18 local languages and dialects in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister instructed the school education department to organize mega PTMs in line with the new education policy.
The Chief Minister planted a tree in his mother's name to kick off a statewide tree plantation campaign, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” and appealed to people to participate in this grand initiative. During the state-level school enrollment festival, he promoted girls' education by distributing bicycles to schoolgirls, ensuring they face no obstacles in attending school and pursuing further education.
The Chief Minister interacted with a student from Jashpur Government School who developed a robotics model in one of the Atal Tinkering Labs. He praised the vocational education efforts in this remote district, emphasizing the importance of skills and vocational education for future generations.
He personally made clay pots with the students to highlight the necessity of combining vocational education with academic learning.
The Chief Minister expressed his delight at the students' work during the summer camp and announced that summer camps would be held annually in government schools. Starting this year, the state government will conduct two board exams for 10th and 12th-grade students. Under the PM SHRI scheme, 211 schools are being developed as model schools in the first phase.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai's wife, Kaushalya Sai, spoke about the role of parents in their children's education, offering valuable tips and advising that children use mobile phones solely for education, knowledge, and life-enhancing information.
