NMPML appoints new contractor to get bus conductors
Nashik: The Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (NMPML)—the transport body of the NMC—has appointed a new contractor to outsource conductors for 150 buses that have been operated from the Tapovan bus depot.
The contract of the old contractor ended on July 7 and the new contractor was appointed from July 08.
An NMPML official said they had finalised the new contractor earlier, but could not release work order since March 16 due to code of conduct for the Lok Sabha polls and the Nashik division teachers’ constituency MLC elections up to June 5.

“After the code of conduct was lifted, we gave a work order to the new contractor. The new contractor has provided a total 250 conductors for the 150 city buses that were operational from Tapovan Bus depot,” the official said. The fleet has a total of 250 buses.
Apart from Tapovan, NMPML was also operating 100 city buses from Nashik Road bus depot which already has a separate contractor to outsource conductors. NMPML operated city bus service through two private agencies responsible for operating, maintaining, and managing the buses.
