TOI Impact: Metro adds 10 feeder e-buses at Khapri
Nagpur: Taking cognizance of the TOI report on overcharging by feeder services at Khapri Metro station, MahaMetro is now collaborating with Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to enhance last-mile connectivity in the Mihan SEZ area, where many IT companies are based.
After the report, MahaMetro informed that 10 new e-buses will operate as feeders, moving in a continuous circular pattern from Khapri Metro Station to various campuses in SEZ area in order to enhance connectivity in Mihan.

The e-rickshaws and autos will also have a compulsory auto fare sheet pasted on the vehicle to maintain transparency between the driver and the commuter. MahaMetro senior deputy general manager, corporate communication, Akhilesh Halve told TOI, “We have taken cognizance of the report and will take strict action against any drives found guilty. Even in the past, two such e-rickshaw drivers were suspended at Khapri Metro station for overcharging commuters.”
He added, “We have deployed e-rickshaws at various Metro stations through MoU with Hyderabad based M/s ETO Motors for first & last mile connectivity. However, we don’t generate any revenue out of it. MahaMetro has always been of the firm view that it will provide world class, efficient, reliable, safe and affordable passenger services to the citizens. These services are being provided to enable usage of public transport.”
