In Nagpur, laborer Rahul Khairwar, 24, from Madhya Pradesh, died in a hit-and-run on Katol Road bypass near midnight
NAGPUR: With the Ram Jhula and Dighori accident case still fresh in minds, a 24-year-old man’s head was crushed in a hit and run case on Katol Road bypass shortly before midnight on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as Rahul Khairwar, who was driving without a helmet. His motorcycle is suspected to have been hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle.
Sources said Khairwar, a native of Madhya Pradesh, had shifted to Nagpur and earned livelihood as a labourer.

The Gittikhadan police have launched an intensive search for the accused. Though the road stretch where the accident occurred has no CCTV coverage, police are trying to get clues about the vehicle’s registration number plate from the footage of cameras installed at private establishments.
Sources said, post dinner, Khairwar drove out to buy ‘kharra’ (chewable tobacco). Police said Khairwar might have tried to cross the road through an opening in the median which had plants.
