‘A rewarding career awaits after diploma in textile tech’
Nagpur: India’s textile sector is undergoing a major change to accommodate the technological advancements. But only a few colleges prepare textile engineers. CP Kapse, head of the textile department at Govt Polytechnic College, Nagpur, said that pursuing a diploma in textile manufacturing technology can ensure a rewarding career after Class 10th and 12th.
“The programme offers nearly a 100% placement rate, with graduates securing packages of up to ₹8 lakh,” he said.
For students wanting to pursue diploma courses in technical fields like textile manufacturing technology after Class 10th, Govt Polytechnic College, Nagpur, has been the go-to-place. The instituted founded in 1914 has introduced various courses over the years. Fee for a three-year diploma course from the institute is significantly lower than that of degrees from universities, which can be up to ₹2 lakh per year.
The college offers a diverse learning experience, emphasizing skill-based education over theoretical learning in line with the National Education Policy. Also, students benefit from a six-month internship programme.
The admission window of Govt Polytechnic, Nagpur, is open till July 15. Students can apply for the diploma courses after completing Class 10th.
