Two poachers held in Ajara forest range
Kolhapur: The Ajara forest department arrested two poachers while they were roaming in Ajara forest, seizing a dead hare along with their hunting weapons.
The action was carried out by range forest officer Smita Dake, forest rangers Balesh Nhavi and G.V. Kendre and the wildlife rescue team.
Nhavi said, “While patrolling in the Ajara forest range at Chotyachi Khop to Dhamane village on Sunday night, we found two people suspiciously roaming with two bags with them.
When thoroughly interrogated, we found 1 dead hare, 2 nets, 1 sickle, 12 sticks, 2 mobiles and 2 bags with them.”
