Yellow alert in four northern districts today
Kochi: With a cyclonic circulation lying over South Gujarat and neighbourhood, heavy rainfall warning has been issued for North Kerala districts for the next four days. The off-shore trough at mean sea level now runs along south Gujarat-Karnataka coasts which is influencing rainfall in this region.
Yellow alerts have been issued for these districts till July 8.
Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod are on yellow alert on Friday.
Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod are on yellow alert on Saturday and Sunday while Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod on Monday.
Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala till July 8. INCOIS has issued an alert for high wave and swell surge watch for Alappuzha, Kannur, Kasaragod, Kollam, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. tnn
